Deflection! lol

You know when it stops bubbling and goes motionless. Then you do the hoot test and it doesn't make a peep or pow on the nail.

i use a griddle, ive burned about %50 of my shit, thank you griddle!

heating pads, and things that dont heat past 130 are better.

a thick layer of something that retains heat in between griddle and oil will dampen heat..

i now run my heat source for a good couple hours before i put my oil on it, just to make sure it aint fluctuating..

goood luck man, burned shit is a pain in the ass.

stay loww, stay slow

I use a heating pad...was $13 on Amazon. At the high setting a candy thermometer(don't have a digi) says it gets up to 130F...low setting is around 90 deg F. I wrap my jelly jar in it like a blood pressure cuff at full vac & leave it for hours at a time. When I start purging I submerge the jar in hot water that was boiled in the stove to get the oil warm & thin then move to the pad. When it starts forming a little muffin I leave it alone for awhile. You only need the heat to soften your oil to suck off the butane; my griddle would cook that shit... Can't seem to get it lower than 200 but it's fine for keeping the water hot in a double boiler type setup that I use when doing initial blasting.

You can set a pan of water or sand on the griddle, under your pot, and help tame it down. Check out heating silicone heating mats for better control at the low end.

Happen to have a link to the heat pad? I using the one for my work recently but it only goes up (and maintains supposedly) a temp of 102f.
