Pulling air from big tent -> Smaller tent question

correct sir. the plan is to have the veg box on a timer so it will line up with the night schedule of bloom tent just to warm it up a tad. im hoping it will offset how much cold air will be coming in from the 180cfm when my 600w does come on. and i run my lights at night, so hopefully the 180cfm isn't WAY too much cold air from outside. only 2nd day with the 600w installed so i'm hoping for the best

Sound , well in theory it sounds spot on and is a great way of using your hot air rather than blowing expensive to run heaters , you can tinker with it by adding a timer switch to the inline fan cutting it out , or and i like this 1 very effective and easy to do is put some bends that are not needed in the ducting or run them longer than they need to be , also when it gets hotter in summer time and you want to put it back how it was , ya can..... ive noticed you have gone 180 to 130 on the exhaust from the small room , is it also smaller ducting or have you added the larger convertor an used larger ducting ?correct sir. the plan is to have the veg box on a timer so it will line up with the night schedule of bloom tent just to warm it up a tad. im hoping it will offset how much cold air will be coming in from the 180cfm when my 600w does come on. and i run my lights at night, so hopefully the 180cfm isn't WAY too much cold air from outside. only 2nd day with the 600w installed so i'm hoping for the best

yeah the fan in the smaller tent is only 4 inch, with all 4 inch ducting going from the big tent into the smaller tent, as well as from the small tent -> bigger one. i like the idea of setting up a timer for the intake fan and cutting it on off as well. seems like together they will do the job

last night was the first night with the 600 running & and the small tent hooked up to the larger one, WITH the 180 cfm intake fan on the 5x5, it caused mildew on both mothers, not bad, but i guess the air coming in is WAYYYYYYY to cold, temps in the tent were below 80 tho so maybe cycle the intake fan on/off? might be easier to just run a heater now that things are playing out

Are you on a small island next to france lol where i am ? just getting an idea for your atmosphere before i add any more ?

i wish :/ that sounds pretty damn nice i must say, i live in bay area CA. but for some reason nights have been extremely cold lately. i hope i have the small space heater i threw into storage a while back
LOL that Island is called England and it aint all that haha , yeah go with the heater until it perks up a bit

it looks like you have your 180cm intake and 180cm outtake on the same side of your enclosure in your drawing
if that is the case, it would work better if your inlet and outlet were at 90 degrees / right angles to each other
when the inlet and outlet are on the same side the new clean air will bet sucked out in a loop without removing all the stale air in the enclosure as effectively , when inlet and outlet are at 90 degrees the old air is forced out across the enclosure pulling the new fresh air in across your plants

Thats real close to how I do mine, but I have to have a couple of bends in ducting to block out the light. What have you done to keep the light from one to the other? another thing is that I run my hps light at night, keeps it warm for winter nights and cool for summer afternoons

yeah i currently run my flowering tent at night, seems to be easier to keep day/night temps closer together, when i ran it during the day night time was damn near freezing. switched that up REAL quick.
As for the light leaking the veg tents intake is the only place i would have worried about because its only like a 3 foot section of ducting and only a minor little bend to it, but surprisingly standing in the flowing tent at night time i cant see the veg tent lights threw the duct. So id assume that black layer on the inside of the duct is really doing its job
