Right on kat! Good for you:mrgreen:
Very good for me, but awesome for him.... he's no longer in danger!

BTW, although he's got errands to run and appointments to make, the next week or so I won't be reading/posting much around here. That should be a given, but thought I'd throw out a heads up all the same. :p Just so you all don't miss me horribly. He'll be going back to work in a week or two, but he's on vacation first and aside from a visit to each of our parents' homes, I've got him all to myself! He told all our friends that they don't get a piece of him till his "Welcome Home" bash in about a week and a half. :hump:

Hell yeah! When he came home from Basic (about to go into AIT) in 2006, everyone went crazy about wanting to see him right away, his two week leave was over before I knew it.... and I barely saw him at all. (Being bedridden and needing GI surgery didn't help much as I couldn't go with him to see our friends, but they still should have been more considerate in demanding his time, especially since I couldn't go with him!)

During the deployment, I've made it crystal clear to everyone that he is mine first, absolutely no arguments! I've missed him more than they all have combined, and since I'm his fiance I get say in the matter! Anyone even dares to call me selfish, and they'll have my temper to deal with instead! Yeah, he's my fiance, and that qualifies me to be selfish, dammit!!!

When he came home for leave in May, he ran his errands in the early morning as I'm a chronic insomniac and was asleep anyway (plus I always need a couple/few hours when I awake to loosen up; I'm worthless until then), and aside from two trips I couldn't make, I went everywhere with him.... and paid for it with serious recovery time (almost a month) after he went back. But a short leave is one thing. He's coming home for good now, so everyone else gets to wait while I get him all to myself without running all over So. CA and ending up bedridden again.

Our best friends are throwing his welcome home party, and they're changing the location because where they'd initially set it up is a long drive, which wreaks too much havoc on my body. Just going to the party will be extremely hard on me, but traveling and then having to get a hotel room is just too much. So at least they're starting to really take notice of my limitations, and compensate for them.... I mean, the party doesn't have to be over an hour drive away! Plus, that just means that everyone attending would have to travel, and not everyone can do that. But it was my limitations that would prevent me from attending my fiance's party that made them decide to change the location. ;) I hate being around a bunch of drunks, which will invariably be how the night turns out, but I can made an exception for his welcome home bash.

Hey there! Nice to hear about your soldier. Thanks for the response in my grow journal, the heat is a real problem but what can you do? I love the summer time. Hope you have a great time and I'm glad to hear that you're laying down the law. When something is important, its just important, and people need to understand that, right? Keep up the good growing, I know you will.

Thanks, everyone! It's been so awesome having T home! :hump:
Now all we need is to get this house we're bidding on: a four bedroom place on a nice & quiet street, and the mortgage payments will be between two & three hundred a month less than what we now pay for rent!!! It needs painting (there were kids living there, and they liked walls & crayons LOL), and the fence needs repair so the dogs can run free, but it's roomy and in much better condition than this hell hole we live in, and it'll be ours instead of us having to pay slum lords to keep a roof over hour heads! We're waiting for the VA to approve it, which is known to take longer than your "typical" 30 day escrow.... his credit is fine; it's whether or not the VA likes the appraisal they'll be doing, as we're being told they're very strict about the house being in great condition RE: structure, etc. (You can't get a "fixer upper" with a VA loan, unfortunately. T kind of wanted to do that, but that's out.) Cross your fingers for us?

So a couple of days after he got home, T spent the large part of the day out with errands and appointments. When he got in late that afternoon, he was more exhausted than I think I've ever seen him, and he was really bothered about some events of that day. While he was on the freeway, there was a patch he drove through that was just sandy desert landscape, and suddenly he was back in Iraq driving on a convoy mission. When visiting one of his bosses (who's also a dear friend, and who was a medic in Vietnam so he knows what T has gone through quite well), he became (according to him) really incoherent and just had some behavior and speech that wasn't "with it, so to speak. Most of his day was like this. So we're sitting here thinking PTSD-type of flashbacks, etc. Neither of us was shocked, as it can happen to anyone who's been where he was. After we talked a bit, he went to lie down and get some rest.

Now fast forward about an hour or so.... I was hurting something wicked, and went to medicate. But I suddenly realized I needed to ask T a question first and went into the bedroom. He was awake, just browsing on his laptop and killing time while resting. I asked him, "Did you by any chance eat one of the brownies in the fridge?"

Can anyone see where this is going??? ROFLMFAO!!!

Yep, he wasn't having PTSD issues.... he was high as a kite, and we had no idea. He hasn't eaten junk food in four years, and also I've told him several times that so far I just eat MJ in brownies because baking kills me (a box of brownie mix is a lot easier than cooking huge meals), so it didn't occur to me that I should tell him not to eat one. Someone gave him a joint to choke on when he was WAY too young (as in around 10), and he hasn't touched MJ since then. He's not "against" it in any way RE: others using MJ; he just isn't interested in it for himself. So anyway, he had himself tested yesterday, and fortunately it was clean. There isn't much THC in just one brownie, as I don't make them strong; just enough to put someone who's not used to MJ on another planet! Just coming home from deployment and with all the guys on leave before they're relieved of active duty (he's in the reserves), it'd make sense to me that there's a good chance of the military testing these guys after they come back from leave and report to their posts. So thankfully he won't get into any trouble!

He's said since that he should've thought to himself, "Now, Kat's cooking goes no further than the microwave or her George Foreman grill, and she's been eating MJ more than smoking it lately. Maybe I shouldn't eat one of these brownies." See? It never occured to me to tell him specifically not to eat my baked goods! LOL

Always an adventure, eh?

My new lights arrived today! I got an eight bulb T5 fixture; four each of 65K & 30K. I'll now have 5,000 lumens per square foot, and they are sooo bright! I'm not getting any HID's until we've got a house and I have a proper grow room set up, complete with good air conditioning. Once all of that is done, then I'll use the T5's for vegging. I know the temperature is going to go down in my tent, because I had my hand right on them and they were barely registering as warm to my touch. I put it all together, but can't lift it to get it hung in my tent. That'll have to wait till T is home from work tonight. My inline fans are supposed to be delivered on Monday. Once those are installed, then I can close my tent and flip to 12/12! They're seven weeks old. I was going to veg them longer, but just can't do the brick weed anymore! So the yield on these four won't be as much as they could've been if I'd vegged longer, but oh well! I've got the two seedlings that'll be growing under the CFL's I've been using, so they'll get to veg longer than these have. I'm aiming to grow as close to indoor trees as possible once I've got my grow room going great.... that may take several months yet, but that just gives me more time to plan as we go along. Till then, I'll just make do with what I've got, and be thankful that my brick weed days are almost over!

Also, I ordered a 5-pack of feminized White Widow seeds yesterday. (I still want to breed later on, but for now I just want to be pretty much guaranteed females. Again, till we have a house and I've got a great grow room set up going.) I've heard so many great reviews of WW, from ease of growth to yield to potency.

ANYHOOO! Here are the first photos I've taken in 11 days. They're not any taller because of the LST, but you can still see lots of development. Gonna be lots of bud sites on these babies, all reaching for the light together! :hump:
Order of appearance:
A, top left: Still unknown
B, top right: I'm about 95% sure it's Pure Power Plant
C, bottom left: Blue Hash
D, bottom left: Northern Lights (also both seedlings)

I thought you'd get a kick outta it! Thanks AK, I'm really enjoying gardening again and having something to do for once! Harvesting was my goal when I first started growing MJ, but now it's more like an awesome bonus that'll come from a hobby that I've always loved and have picked up again. :D

Absolutely no offense taken.... I feel the same! :hump: I'll definitely pass your message along to him tonight! :D
Yeah, he won't be getting into any homemade edibles around here again, at least not without first confirming their content with me first.

Nope, I got it immediately. ;) Now, T didn't. I had to explain it to him! I told him, "It's just like me: you know I don't support much of the gov't goings on, including all the military and warring, etc. But that doesn't change that I fully support, and even applaud, the individuals who selflessly go out and do what most others never would." I think he got it then. ;)

My grow's going great! I'm flipping to 12/12 sometime this next week, once my new inline fans arrive and are installed, so that I can finally close the damn tent without temperature or humidity issues! My two seedlings will get to veg much larger than these four, as they'll still be growing (and of course having lots of BDSM, lol) while these babies are flowering.

Got the new light fixture hung last night. WOW, so much brighter than the CFLs were! I literally get blinded for a couple hours if I don't wear shades when I check or work on them! Also, my tent is 2'x4' and the lights are 18"x4', so the entire tent is now illuminated instead of less than half! Now they're spread out instead of being crammed against each other, so they shouldn't crowd each other while flowering. I can still easily fit two more in there to complete my six plant limit, and still no over-crowding! :D Once my WW seeds arrive, I'll plant a couple/few of those as well, about two weeks apart (I won't go above six mature plants at once, due to my MMJ status and needing to make sure there's no trouble with the law; not that I have run-ins with them, but ya know!), and each will go to flower when it's vegged long and large enough. I'm still aiming for a perpetual; harvest one plant every two weeks which will keep my six-mature-plant-maximum just right. :hump:

I'm going to post "recap" photos along with today's, because it's been so long since my last full round of photos. (The first is of my cuttings in the AG; I took that one earlier today to show someone how I ventilated the humidity domes.) It's been 17 days since I started inflicting BDSM on these babies, and the growth has amazed me! The pots are turned in a way that the most "sparse" parts of the plants are in front, because the "markers" (plastic spoons LOL) are facing forward for easy ID. But that doesn't hide the amount of growth they've had since I started tying these babies down!

And here I was going to make a "short" post.... SHEESH!!! lmao

I'm wondering now if Queen's song "Tie Your Mother Down" was about growing pot.... ???

hey kat lots been goin on around here...cops raided my neighbors house lookin for drugs...they are really good ppl who dont even smoke....needless to say i got scared and cut all the plants down :( i was flushing 3 of them so it was just an early harvest for those babies but i had to kill at least 23 other plants in various stages of growth...there goes my perpetual grow :(

im gonna start back up when things cool down i managed to save my white widow genetics in 2 plants and have moved them to a safer location,,,i think im gonna have to grow less plants but veg them longer so i can yield more per plant....do you know anything about growin big tall plants..i dont..lol
but ive heard u can yeild alot more per plant so it sounds perfect for me

on another note hows ur man i know ur happy to have him back thats soo cool
