It was at the civil rights museum in Memphis. The museum was built around the Lorraine Motel where MLK was shot. It is a "must see" if you're in the area.
They also have a metro bus similar to the one that made Rosa Parks famous.
SIDENOTE:
I've been to a lot of museums but never one that had metal detectors at the entrance.
They took my pocket knife -- and it was small (2" blade).
Another weird thing was that they didn't allow pics in the first gallery. I put my phone away and never brought it out again because nobody else was taking pics, even when it was OK to do so.

That sounds like a trip worth taking. Awesome description of the museum and the effect it had on visitors. I heard that the area where you were told to refrain from taking photos in respect for the families of their descendants was the slave quarters and exhibits. Appropriate to give the same respect throughout.
