Producing Feminised Seeds Using Colloidal Silver

I've been hitting my Orange Bud with it for 2 weeks now and it's still trying to be a girl.... Weird.

We'll see how the Mekong High works out.

Okay so stopped spraying a few days after first signs of male flowers forming. Then male flowers seemed to start to revert back to female, opening up to release green hair like things and some actual female white hairs.

Was planning to get seeds from these plants but now I'm spraying again to at least ensure I get some female pollen. Just threw 2 more of the same genetics into flower, will pollinate with colloidal silver females. Going to spray those bastards until they produce pollen.

Never pollinated before so any tips? Could a small paintbrush be used and dip some pollen and brush the buds? How many weeks into flower is the best time to pollinate a female?

I sprayed mine until they were almost ready to spew. It didn't cause any stress with 15-20 ppm spray so I just kept spraying.
Not an expert but I would think that near center of the flowering cycle would be best. Make sure you allow 4 weeks for seeds to mature. You can pollinate earlier if you need to but if you wait until later there are more sites ready for the pollen.
BTW, my seeds are growing now. I can see a few that have popped out. Still another couple of weeks to go.

Yup! I pollenated my intended target, an unknown but decent strain for which we only had clones. The beans from that in in the first pic. The second pic has my strain crossed with White Widow. This wasn't really intentional, but the plant was right next to the intended target. I wasn't all that careful, but didn't really care if it did what it did.

I used a small artist brush. You just swirl the brush in the pollen to pick some up, then brush the pistils. The pistils are sticky so they grab the pollen. Within a day or so of being pollenated, the pistils seem to shrink and die quickly. Since nature has a reason for everything it does, I theorize that the pistils do this so that they don't catch additional pollen which would go to waste.

the first pic looks good the ww dont look so good a bit undercooked maybe?
Yeah, many of the WW are quite pale. There are some nice grey ones in there too though. I am going to try germing one or two of the pale ones, I'll let you know.

maybe they could have done with another week under the lights. how long did u leave them from pollinating to harvesting? and was it longer than the other cross? usually light seeds are immature maybe you will be lucky can only try!

Good question, phear. I was quite surprised how little time it took from pollenating to getting mature seeds. All of the pollenating occurred within a 2-3 day period, nearly 4 weeks into flowering for the females. Both females were the same age, flowering-wise. Both plants were harvested about 40 days later, or just over 9 weeks flowering time for the plants. I did chop the WW first. The plants were ready for harvest in all other respects.

It was only 2-3 buds on each plant that got pollenated, so I guess I could have left those branches longer but I didn't :) The final proof will be in the growing of some of these beans, but I am very pleased with the results so far.

Thanks again for bringing this to us, G.O.D.

Update

I germed two of the most pale WW cross ones just for the hell of it. As expected, they did nothing. Couple days later I selected 7 of the "pure' strain ones (not that I think that has anything to do with it, the ww ones were immature). Anyway, I chose ones I thought looked like good candidates: grey and healthy looking, good size, etc. I have many such seeds to choose from so it was quite random. 5 of the 7 germed within 36 hours. The other two still have not, and it's been 3 days.

The 5 that germed are in pots already, and two are starting to poke out. I will take all 5 to bud and go full circle with the process. I have little doubt how it's going to turn out though :)

The OG I seeded yielded about an ounce. I cured it normally and am now smoking it. Damned respectable smoke although not quite as good as the unseeded. So far I have about 60 or 70 seeds and expect about 100. They are all healthy and mature since I let them go for at least 5 weeks after pollination.
On 18 June, a couple of seeds rolled out so just for grins I put them in a wet paper towel to see if they would germinate. The next day both had sprouted taproots and on 20 June I transplanted into coco. On 21 June they both emerged from the coco and are now about 2 inches tall. These are as healthy as any seeds that I have seen. I suppose now I will put them in the rotation to make sure they are stable.

Now I'm going to try a Lemon Skunk X OG.

Great Thread, Thanks to everyone for their input. So where are you guys at with the seeds and plants, did they all stay Female?

I took 7 of my seeds and germinated. Only 5 germed. After planting the 5, I lost 2. One was my own fault and the other just disappeared. The remaining 3 are in veg, about 10" tall. I'll let them get a little bigger and put them into my bud room.
I have been growing some Barney's Farm LSD. I have two seeds left from Attitude, but I want more so I started a few clones for the silver thing.

The 2 OGK are doing great. They are identical with nice thick stems and very healthy. I topped em at about 7 or 8 inches and I'll flip them in about a week or so if I can find a spot in the bud room.
I started another run with the same results so far. The ladyboy has been sprayed for about 2 weeks and starting to show pollen sacs.

iv heard this works but heres a tip : dont use the pollen on the hermi bud (or at least the seeds that grow) because hermi plants have hermi tendencies, so take your pollen of of one plant, then put it on the two others..... those will be femd, not hermd...im sorry if it doesnt quit make sense.... imso baked....
my reasoning goes like this:

lets say you have 1herm, 2 females

1 herm(pollen) + 1 herm(bud) = high chance of herm 2/3
but if you have
1herm(pollen) + 1 female(bud) = lower chance of herm 1/3

ive never tried any of this kinda stuff before , and ive only ever read very small amounts on the subject, so please excuse me if i seem to be asking idiot level questionsbut here goes; are the three clones taken from the same plant and was it a female plant from feminized seeds, what is the transfer method to put the CS onto the plant, is it sprayed on or brushed on or what? and just how do you know how stable the genetics will or is it just taking a risk ?
Well, I know I'm an idiot but not so sure about you................great questions Dude!!!

The resulting male plant is not a hermi. The pollen it creates does not carry hermi traits.

The application method is to take your CS and put it into a spray bottle. Spray the entire plant once/day, starting 2-3 days before flipping into bud, and for about a week after.

Well, I can finally say that the 3 plants are all female. Reason it took so long is I just had them in small pots under flourescents until I put them in my bud room. I'll probably just leave them in small pots and let 'em go. My rooms are full lol
