preserving a leaf to be framed?

hey guys, nearing the end of my first grow and of my six pretty ladies, I would like to preserve a leaf from each and frame them, was wondering what the best way to preserve the fresh green leaf so it will look good forever. would like to show my kids some day:-o thanks
 
Take you a few A4's, stack three on each side with the leaf in the middle and put it in a heavy book. Later, once it is pressed long enough, a few weeks, frame it..
 
your the man, just b/c im stupid and didnt quite get what you were saying, so I take the leaf, put it in the middle of a book, then put weight on the book and press the leaf for a few weeks then im golden, right?

I laminated one of my leaves on a standard office laminator and 6months later it's still looking pretty cool.

When I want to preserve my fans, I spray them with hairspray then put them in the middle of a book for a few weeks. Works like a charm.
 
*Best Cheapest Way*

Get some clear tape, and put stands of tape on one side of the leaf going from side to side, overlapping each layer a little bit. Then flip it and repeat. Youll have a pretty green leafe for a looong time. I have one done like that and it still looks like it did a month ago when i picked it.
 
ya, if i was to use tape, I would just use laminating stickers, you know, those cheap do it yourself kits at staples, maybe il try them all and report back how each worked, thanks.

Agreed! Haha I have done this before and there are a few ways..submerge it in a 1part glycerine, 2 parts water solution for a few days and it will change the protein properties of the leaf by replacing water with glycerine(like preserving snakeskin) another way is the wax paper method and finally the spray with acrylic....
 
Laminator, the cheaper ones may take 2 passes. I have a few that still look great. Ya never know when youll need to hold a seminar on the differences between indica and sativa etc...... :)

glue it to acid free paper, and then cover it in clear shellac...use the glue they make for keeping puzzles together to keep the leaf on the paper originally, and you need a thick piece of acid free paper...anyway that is it...glue the leaf down, and then shellac for preservation.

I have 2 big beautiful leafs of my first plant this year, and I was wondering if there is a way I can preserve them to keep the look they are now? I have read so much, now I'm just confused!!! I have acrylic spray,hairspray,whits paper,newspaper...? Is there a way I can flatten them and keep them green without paint?
 
I have preserved leaves by drying in books and they look beautiful 10 years later still :).

Another option, which would work great for a fresh leaf, would be to do an epoxy pour. You could create a frame, put in a leaf or a few at different levels, and fill the frame with epoxy. You can preserve buds this way too. I've seen people make beautiful "scenes" his way. There are even people doing this to coffee tables and other household items.
