i'm running a krakty system with a red solo cup & a net pot. next pay check though, i'm getting 1 gallon mason jars, putting black socks over them, throwing in an airstone, and hopefully i'll be golden.
i'm using the bottled nutes because its what i had on hand, and i was eager to try something new and experiment..
What's d/o?
Dissolved oxygen and good luck boss. Ive never done the krakty method i have heard of it though but if i remember correctly its just useing your soil flooded with water correct? Also i dont think that method uses air stones to add D/O to the water.

that's not what it is.
i'm doing a slightly changed version. i'm keeping the water levels at the same place, every 12 hours i'll change out the nutrient water with fresher/phd nutrient water,

and if the problem would be d/o, how come none of my other plants are reacting the same?

Ok let me see if i understand whats going on here. So you are using the solo cup as your net pot that sits above the res correct? Are you using the the rockwool as your medium? And man that seems like way to much work but if its working. As far as why its affecting one and not the others hard to say not sure about your set up so it could be a mix of things. It could be the first to show or it might not be getting as much D/O as the others.

i put these two in a bigger container with still water, they were good for a day, but started showing these signs right after so i'm thinking maybe thats why. i've had them switched back to the redsolo cups for 2 days now.

Honestly my suggestion would be to try dwc first seeing that thats basicly what you are doing now. After you get the hang of that then experiment with hydro. The only reason i suggest this is that dwc is the easiest of all the systems. Only really need the air pump and a tote.

once i get the 1 gal mason jars i'll be treating it like dwc.
i was gonna use a 45gal tote, but the 1 gal mason jars just seemed a bit more reasonable.
i'm gonna have an 8 way air flow control plugged into my 20W air pump nozzle, with 6 tubes going into each of the 4in air stones in the 1 gallon mason jars.
it sounds like a good plan in my head.
the air stones require 2.5w> ea so the air pump should work pretty well.

I would advise against the mason jars as you dont want any light getting into the roots you can pick up a 10 or 12 gallon tote at home depot or lows cut a hole in the lid for the net pot and a hole for the air hose just make sure you get the black heavy duty ones or if you want smaller ones i think they have 5 gallon ones but they may be to small. Also not sure how big that air pump is so not sure if it will run all those air stones but try it on one or two and see how it does and go from there.

i'm gonna be covering the mason jars with black socks. this will also make it easier for me to train the plant with paper clips.
i can PM you the link to the air pump i'm getting, if that'd help.

Or you can post it here whichever you prefer. If you plan on keeping them in the one gallon you will have trouble with the roots being compacted so i would suggest flipping right to 12/12.

they block links on public posts for some reason.
i think the roots will be okay. worst case scenario, i have to break the jar & replant into a tote lol.
