I veg under a 4 bulb 2' T5 and then flower under a 400w HPS. The veg works fine. I just harvested. Look at my albums.

Those are from my first T5 Grow around 430 Watts.. Im now on my 3rd indoor still using T5's they work awesome!!

I have 4 t5HOs that i use with 8 T8s. The T5HOs tend to put out alot more heat than I initially thought and really didnt work in my small veg space. I use the T8s to veg and the T5HOs to flower along with a 400w hps

(2 foot deep by 6 foot wide) How much lighting for this small space? 4 plants. Cool/warm light mix to get veg/flower best combination.
600 watts for 12 square feet with proper mix of yellow and red light spectrum? 4 foot 4 bulb (mixed cool/warm) T5 set up? Would this work with Lowryder #2 auto and other shorter auto/reg strains?

I would stay away from the cool white, and replace them with natural(5000k) or Daylight (6500)k. I would honestly build my room just a little bigger than your lights so maybe 4'1'' or 4'2''. It will maximize the lighting. Other than that your good bro, they will grow fine, I hear they do best on a 20/4 cycle.

My 2 x 6 space is my actual closet size...so I would have one foot clearance on each side... the walls are white and I plan on putting down reflective material on the inside of the sliding closet doors and under the plants...
So why no cool lights for flowering?
I have heard the same about the lighting schedule...

Ah, true i would just mount some Cfls as side lighting then. Yeah those t5's are nice dude i was looking at them myself. For veg 6500k is the best. Cool/warm will work for flowering. Would love to see pics when you got it going bro.

I got the T5 4 foot 4 bulb and 4 extra bulbs. 4 bulbs for veg and 4 bulbs for flowering. I am going to try to block off and cover 2 feet section to make the closet 4 feet grow area instead of 6. I will share pics if anything notable.
