Possible to use perlite for a flood and drain system.

That's pretty cool..! 8) (I think I see a marble in the top right corner) Do you think smooth, similar-sized Beach rocks would work?

btw I vote for hydroton
I started with hydroton. It's PITA to use, clean, and reuse. It breaks down and will become part of the nutrient. Harmless but it cn clog things up. After that experience is whn I went to polished stones.

As long as the stones are solid (unlike hydroton) you should be fine

Nah I'll stick with perlite
