Fasciation is a separate condition usually hormonal, genetic, possibly even affected by a bacteria, virus, fungi, or even certain mite infestations or chemicals. To be clear a Polyploid just means more then 2 sets of chromosomes. There- I did your work for you, enjoy.

Thanks I thought it was neat. My honest opinion it's not a desired trait/occurence/mutation.. But as you've pointed out as well as others it's quite fascinating.. Also there is a difference between the two. I don't think it's all that important besides the fact it's undesirable to grow.
