Please help me. I need help asap. My only seedling (1 week old) has grown really really tall (8" tall) and only has tiny tiny leaves on it. I couldnt help it sooner because im new to growing and thought that was normal. I realised this tonight because any slight touch to it, it falls over and looks dead! Please tell me how i can stop this. Im heaps into growing and its my only seed. If i dies i dont know where else to get a seed. Its White widow x northern lights if that means anything. Ill upload some pictures to show you. What do i do! Please help me! and reply asap. Im stressin the fuck out.

Cheers

P.S It is a 15watt light...

Go to lowes or something and get a y splitter and add a 2nd bulb. It still won't be enough light to properly veg/flower but will make it slightly healthier. If anything make a ghetto cfl fixture like I did in my first grow. I got about 3/4 of a oz and only used like 6 smaller bulbs

need to support the plant or add soil arround the plant right up to the base of the smaller leaves.. it will give it more stem strength..

So pretty much add more lights and soil?... Also, is my light too close? it is really bloody close, but it doesnt create heat that much... let alone warmth

Dig it up and rebury it deeper. To where the thing sticking up is the leaves. Also, get more lights!

i have enough room to put a lot more soil into the pot. Am i able to just add more soil up to the leaves? also, can it be any type of soil? say... from another plant pot? or should i buy all new soil all together? (p.s. why did it grow like this in the first place?)

it grew like that due to it stretching to find more light. like said above, repot the plant to about 1" from the set of leaves and definitely add more light. as far as soil, many say Mg (miracle grow) is garbage for mj plants. I use fox farm ocean forest and love it. I also add mycorizahea(sp) and 1 cup dolomite lime per 1.5cu' of soil.

good luck in your grow.

more, less powerful lights rather than a two strong cfls will give you the best results. The smaller the bulb the less heat output and it allows you to get the closet with the bulb.

if heat is an issue put your finger at the canopy and if it seems too hot there move the bulbs back a tad, but the low wattage cfl's shoulld be able to get within a few inches of the plant and give you the best results !

When the plant gets bigger maybe try bigger bulbs. The main thing u do here is avoid that stretch u just got.
Also slowly add in fan... very slowly.

Like they ^ said above, just add soil around stalk of plant, and get lights closer as close as you can [2"]....leave it in MG soil for now, you'll be fine... The soil will not kill this seedling, you will... DO NOT DIG IT UP AND REPLANT IT.... just add soil around stalk... slightly, slowly.... pack it around stalk... so the soil holds it up.... find some perilite or vermiculite next and mix up some MG with it and when your third set of leaves grows maybe transplant it then... Add, as many CFL's as you can....GOOD LUCK!

you can re-bury it pretty close to the leaves, it will be fine. I think your problem is the light wasn't close enough, fill the soil to near the top of the pot and get the light as close as you can without touching it. But once it gets bigger that won't be enough light either.

What do you plan to do once this plant does establish itself? Are you going to move it outdoors, or are you planning to flower it under your desk lamp?

I had the same situation once.. it fell over... I left it alone and didn't put any strong fans on it or anything.. it snaked its way back up to a standing position over a couple weeks. just leave it alone.. staking it will only make it dependent on stakes.. let mother nature strengthen the plant,,, it will heal it self.. just try to keep the leaves off of the soil

Or if you do have to stake a plant, only do it as long as the plant NEEDS it. Get it out of there ASAP and let the plant strengthen itself.
Plants in flower are the exception to this rule.

Some replies here are just dang funny. I myself would cut a bottom out of another pot, set it into your orignal pot, and fill with your medium to the near top of the plant. I myself would not try to dig a seedling up, especially if I smoked cigarettes. One 26watt 6500K cfl is all you need for now... looks like you are using 2700K warm/soft CFL. You Will want a DAYLIGHT CFL. Also seedling will not like a bunch of wattage on the all at once. Introduce the new 26 watt 6500K CFL to your seedling about a foot away the first day then slowly each day bring it on down 1" till it gets 2" from the plant. Later on you could if you wanted bring it as close as one inch.
