valve games are made for PC and ported to consoles.
if you were a PC gamer you wouldnt have this issue.

I had a horrible experience w/ a PC game years ago, it was called World War 2 Online......was a MMOG FPS set in WW2 w/ land, sea and air combat.

The servers went down within hours of the game launch, was the worst launch in the history of PC gaming. They ended up having to let people play for free for a looooong time. The game is still around now w/ a new title "Battleground Europe"

there have been several mmo* launches that have had problems. sorry you were a part of one of them.
i will not pay a monthly fee to play a game online, which is why i don't play wow or any of it's clones and why i don't own an xbox.

That sucks, I fucking knew I should have bought Portal 2 on Xbox...that's what I get for going against my instincts. NEVER again will I buy a game that is multi platform on anything but 360. If my 360 got the red rings I could go out and buy a used one for cheap, but at least XBox Live will be there all the time

yup i think ima get the 360 just to have it for times like this..i'll still be a ps3 fan though and buying the 360 could kind of be a waste but i hate gaming offline..unless me and a homie are playing together it gets hella boring

I'm not biased at all, I love all 3 consoles for different reasons. Each console has something special to offer, none ore superior over the next one, IMO. I'm just fucking pissed off that the one and only time I ever get a game on PS3 that is available on 360, I get fucked in the ass by them.

i feel u..i like all the consoles to, im not a big gamer but i was a big xbox fan until the ps3 came out..i think the 360 had no comparison to the ps3 but if im not mistaken the newest 360's are upgraded with built in hard drives and more gb's right?? either way i still think ps3 has more to offer

If the PS3 had what Xbox Live had to offer then we would have as close to a perfect console as possible. Blu ray isn't a selling point for Sony anymore since prices are dropping and they can't use "free PSN" as a selling point either after this. The Move is pretty much a Wii on graphics steroids and hasn't convinced me to get one (I did get a Kinect, my wife loves it) so Sony needs to come up with something fast, because as far as what they have to offer, it really isn't much right now.

like i said im no gamer..i couldnt tell you how the new 360 is but i remember the first 360 if im not mistaken u had to buy batteries for controllers, buy memory cards, u get no HD and there is a smaller game selection and of course paying for xbox live

True, but the PS3 provides a 4 ft. cable to recharge your controller. When your PS3 controller runs out of power, you'll be about 3 feet away from your tv. With Xbox, you just have to get new batteries or spend $20 on a rechargeable battery kit which comes with a cord way longer than Sony's, so even when your battery dies, you just have to plug in your recharger cable and still be about 10 feet away.

Lucky for me I have 2 Sony controllers, 3 xbox controllers and 5 Wii controllers :D I just wish I had PSN so I can play Portal 2 online :wall:

, buy memory cards
They both come with hard drives and I have never had any reason to own a memory card with current consoles

, u get no HD
Yes, you do get HD with the 360, it may not be as high as blu ray, but HD after about 1080i or 720p with a nice LED or LCD tv doesn't really make too much of a difference anymore

and there is a smaller game selection
Now you're just making shit up...

and of course paying for xbox live
Those people who are paying for Xbox live are having fun playing online right now and don't have to worry about their personal information being stolen. PSN was free for years but you always get what you pay for

paying for damn near exactly the same service and features instead of getting it free doesnt magically make xbox live's network impenetrable. Your data is still vulnerable, just not targeted. If some crazy hackers wanted xbox live account data, believe me, theyd have it just as easily as they hacked sony. The money you spend on xbox live doesnt all, if any, go into extra security. I thought this would be a thread dedicated to the hack on psn, yet it has turned into another thread of playstation vs xbox...

I simply answered the guys questions. Like I said, I'm not biased, I own all 3 consoles and yes I'm pissed I bought a game on PS3 that I should have gotten on Xbox.

Until I read about Xbox being hacked and 70+ million consumers being targeted your post is nothing but an opinion and not a fact. The only fact here is that the PSN has always been a joke but it didn't keep me from buying almost every PS3 exclusive. God of War 3, Uncharted 1 & 2, Little Big Planet, Infamous, Killzone 2 and 3, and planning to get Infamous 2 and Uncharted 3 later this year, regardless of their piece of shit network. Does that make me an Xbox fanboy? The only game I can't wait for on Xbox this year is Gears 3, if I had known that the PSN would be down I would be playing Portal 2 online right now instead of complaining about it. I only care about the campaigns for Infamous 2 and Uncharted 3, if PSN goes down when those game release I wouldn't give a fuck.
