So. the myth was that plants grow better when talking nice to em. But what they found out was that heavymetal made the yield of their plants including growing faster and so on.

So i wanna try this experiment on my plants. getting em up soon:)

I'll let u guys know as soon as i can see progress.

Anyone tried this btw? Searched it up on google, but couldnt find anything, so thought this hasnt been posted before. Anyway, what do you think will change the grow factor? and why music? Wouldnt heavy metal stress the crop?

Watch the episode here.

They tested this on Mythbusters, and turned out that it doesn't do anything except give the grower 'peace of mind'. Sorry man, but I believe them. :)

My guess, if in anyway this worked, would that heavy metal would give them rigor. If the vibrations did the same strengthening job as a fan, metals vibrations would do this.....

Lamb of God anyone??

Finally someone that finds this intresting :-D

If my test shows that it rly will work, then i will be the Cool guy who improved ur yield :-D mao
I did watch the episode.. and the only thing it would do is strengthen stems/stalks.

the only noises that effected the plants were the loud ones, screaming..heavy metal..etc.

you can accomplish the same thing by putting a fan in your room, except the fan would be better since it helps airflow as well.

plants obviously cant hear... its just vibrations..

There is something called the Sonic Bloom theory, where in fact the sound of birds in the morning will make the flowers open up more. I don't know if it works with all bird sounds but i would assume most, and i also don't know if it works with cannabis. Anyways, just a fun fact!

  1. For decades, people have been experimenting with music and plant growth. Many amateur plant growers claim that classical music works better than loud rock and roll and heavy metal. So far, scientific studies have not backed up this claim. No one has proven that plants prefer one kind of music to another.
  2. Plants do like noise. Plants exposed to a set frequency of sound tend to germinate more quickly, grow taller and weigh more than those kept in silence. Both 50,000 hz ultrasound (above the human hearing range) and 5,000 hz sound seem to work. Therefore, there's a good chance that plants like any sound you might play for them, including music.
  3. Plants also like good, attentive care. If you are playing music you like for a plant, it may lead you to take better care of it. You will be more likely to carefully water and feed the plant and make sure it has good light. It might look like the music helps the plant grow, when you are actually taking better care of it.
  4. Plants like carbon dioxide. If you are standing by a plant, singing to it, it is going to absorb some carbon dioxide from your breath. This could help it to grow more quickly. "
