Plant Disaster

I went out of town for 6 days and sent my lovely wife an email reminding her to water my plant while I was gone. Well, I just got back and she neglected to do so.

The plant isn't totally gone, just very wilty, six days with no water, and I immediately watered it.

It was probably day 105 after sprouting, very close to harvest, but I had been watching the resin glands for amber and hadn't got there yet.

Now some of the buds have leaves that look black. Is mold the only thing that could cause that? Would dryness cause mold? Or is it just the plant partially dying from no water.

As long as I can still smoke this stuff, it's not a total loss, but if this somehow ruins three months of work, I'm going to be sad to say the least.

I've done this before with plants in grow chambers (not Cannabis sp.). THe leaves dry out and wilt and the intense light from the lamps desiccates the leaves turning them this weird papery translucent black/dark-green.

If there's not too many of those leaves, you can probably trim them off without too much worry. I'd say your plant will be fine, but I yield my advice to others who've experienced the same thing with pot.

Did it rain a lot while you were gone? Does your wife not like it that you are growing weed? What strain of weed it that? Could it be a Purple strain?

No, I don't think it rained more than usual. I'm not sure what strain it is, because it was from a seed mix, but I've grown this one before, looked exactly like this (except not black), although I harvested after 70 days last time, because I only used 6500k CFLs and I think that made it go faster (with much less harvest weight).

My wife didn't do this on purpose, she just didn't see my email somehow. She's bummed too because it's for both of us.

Also, it doesn't really look moldy at all, as maybe you can see in the pics. Just dark. Would there be any harm in smoking this?

Your smoke will be fine. Some experts recomend you let the plant almost die before harvest to force as much resin out of the plant as possible! You should not smoke any with your wife! Doesnt sound like she deserves any if she smokes? I would be quite pissed off about my wife not watering for me!
