my plant fell from a 4 foot shelf and the stem broke in half. i put the top half of the plant in water with root hormone. and the bottom is still in the soil. the plant was about a foot and a half tall. with about 9 nods. my question being will the stress of that hermi both of them? keep im mind that its only a 9 inch section of the top and a foot section of the bottom. the top has sprong back form being droppy so i just hope the stress doesnt mess with it at all sorry i dont have any pics but there kind of a pain to put up and i dont think i need them for this

Your bottom half will be just fine as long as she wasn't in flowering mode. The top half that broke off is in danger, but can be saved. The water with rooting hormone is decent, but I suggest nicking the stem with a razorblade and cutting at 45 degree angle, then toss immediately into some rooting gel and toss her back into wet soil. If she is small enough, a humidity dome would be best, and maybe a heating mat. Basically just treat the top half like it was a clone, and your chance of her rooting again are better.

^Listen to him.

You also might want to cut it back to the size of a normal cutting, if it's rather large. Or, maybe you can get multiple clones, if there's branching?

As for hermie question, I dropped one of my lights on a plant with result you had, never occurred to me to clone top half and I just threw it away, but bottom half is presntly loaded with buds so I doubt you have to worry about hermie thing.
