Mom gave my Dad a Yellow front (I think) for his birthday one year & we had him forever.
The bird was a tweaker though, completely unhinged - would only let my Dad even near him & we had to re-home him to a rescue center after Dad passed.
Only to find out that "He" was a She and once she got used to being with other birds became somewhat normal.
Don't know how old She was when we got her, but she was with our family for 46 years.

That's a Blue-fronted Amazon

I've found that birds tend to bond with humans of the opposite sex

I think @curious2garden can tell you a bit about the (I believe) Hyacinth Macaw.

Yes, I have a breeding pair, currently sitting a clutch. They are magnificent and the female is relatively foul tempered, while the male is a lover. I also have Moluccan and Umbrella cockatoos. The Moluccan was a rescue from a meth head. Sadly she isn't very well balanced. I've had my Umbrella from an egg and he's 27 now and usually friendly except when my husband is around. Then he bites me o_O (I'm the opposite sex).

He's asserting his dominance- he considers you his mate and your husband a rival
