with phosphoric acid, the "stuff" you're adding is negligible, on the order of 10ppm or so, if that, i would guess.

lower pH (5.2) is going to do a better job flushing, as it can hold more salts in solution. un-pH-corrected tap water tend to be high (mine is 8.0+), which is going to cause some salts in solution to precipitate out as scale (soap scum). this is not what you're after during a flush. plus, it's a bitch to clean all that off of your equipment, probes, etc.

i've seen grandmaster growers in amsterdam (on youtube) flushing with 5.2, for what it's worth
 
This is a mute point. Ph or not flush or not. It comes down to you. Try a few things and do what you like. I stated what I like and do in my last post. It is time for you to find your way. And I say fuck everyone's ideas myself included. It's up to you. Do what you find is best. It's not a 1 grow thing.
 
if you research some say you don't need to flush and others say you do like warlock says do your own thing, me personally i don't flush anymore and haven't noticed a difference like some people keep there plants in the dark for a few days before harvest but they are denying them energy so I say bullshit on that method.

Untrue by not phing your water you risk altering the soils ph which directly affects nutrient intake. The difference is in nutrient lockout, deficiencies, and veg nutrients still in the soil. Flushing is used to correct any one of these. If too many veg nutes are present in flower and nite burn does not occur then it may affect the drying, curing process sometimes by a green smell and taste that does not go away through dry, cure. Proofs in the pudding

Ummm, hydroponics are quite different than soil. Soil you are flushing from the medium, hydroponics you're flushing the roots solely

Seems to me you should pick and choose the advice you research rollituppers, some people seem to base their growing experience on pride and whimsy instead of actual research, facts, and testing ⏫

During the day your plant take sunlight for the processes it goes through at night. By allowing your plants a dark period Before Harvest allows it to use the rest of its available nutrients from within that structure which can improve potency

Really!? No flushing in ANY medium do you say? And you don't have harsh residuals?
I ask because I don't flush when doing photoperiod Sour Diesel or maybe Fruity strain when using Raw Berry or Citrus (SOIL/COCO)but EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE I've talked to and look over has told me 7days to 14days of plain RO or preferably DI in ALL grow mediums. Have proven this like I've said over the years and have a technique but your reply struck me odd when scrolling comments here.
Was just wondering because my jack herer auto appears to be on week 9 but still is growing quite nicely...I'm still blasting 1500ppm nutes on her! Lol
Sorry again, it still weirds me out that someone does this in hydro applications when the process is so straightforward. Sounds ranty or we but don't take offense to my autism lol

Your answer makes sense to me...I'll be pHing my Final Flush mixture to around 6.5. She loved the pH level while growing and flowering so if it ain't broken, why fix it?
 
Makes no sense to add at a time when you want to take away. You want you roots to stop taking in nutrients, to so called clean the plant of chemicals. PH'ing allows the plant to use whatever it can, even though it's not necessary. You plant at flush has pretty much done what it's gonna do.
