As the plants are not taking up nutes from a H20nly tabk, leaving the ph as it is out of the source seems fine... why add more of what you're trying to remove?
with phosphoric acid, the "stuff" you're adding is negligible, on the order of 10ppm or so, if that, i would guess.
lower pH (5.2) is going to do a better job flushing, as it can hold more salts in solution. un-pH-corrected tap water tend to be high (mine is 8.0+), which is going to cause some salts in solution to precipitate out as scale (soap scum). this is not what you're after during a flush. plus, it's a bitch to clean all that off of your equipment, probes, etc.
i've seen grandmaster growers in amsterdam (on youtube) flushing with 5.2, for what it's worth
