Paradise Seeds

Hey everyone, it's been a while but I have some nice update photos. First I'm going to post up the Tangerine Sorbet, which are doing really well on their second run. There are 8 different seedlings here but it is hard to tell them all apart as they are so uniform.

I do have a couple of favourites which I will be running myself next grow. These plants are not mine, but are being grown by a friend. The clones I have chosen are #2 and #5. These Tangerine Sorbet are all finishing in about 7 weeks under the High Light 420 Gen2 LED lights (plants usually finish a little earlier under my lights as they have added Far Red).

Yields are up there: the last grow in this room had plants that pulled between 16oz and 24oz each under 400W of LED. The second run is much more consistent, although the plants were a bit smaller when they went in, and so we're expecting around 16-18oz per plant. I think, fully optimised, these plants could go 20-24oz under each 400W of LED.

Of the two clones, #2 is my favourite as it has the heady Wappa high with the Thin Mint Cookies taste. The high is a real creeper that starts off with you hardly noticing you are stoned until 5-10 minutes later you suddenly realise you are HAF! That's "High as Fuck!" It is a real head high that is both optimistic and happy. Euphoric might be another way to describe it, but I find it very functional and anti-anxiety. It also has a bit of relaxing body to it, especially when you over-indulge! It's a nice cruisy high that can be smoked almost any time of the day. The taste is quite pepperminty and a bit skunky.

#5 looks like a better yielder, with big fat buds, and the high is very strong, with more of a body stone than #2 but still quite heady like its Wappa mother. A few inexperienced smokers have complained that #5 is too strong for them but I don't think so. It's definitely heavier than #2 but is not a couchlock stone by any means – more of a hybrid stone with some nice clarity and very relaxing body. I tend to smoke it more in the evenings.

Here is an overview. On the right-hand side, from the front to the back is #1, #2, #3 (tall plant in far corner). On the left-hand side, from front to back is #4, #5, #6.

The following images are all #5. I think I can do a little better than this, so I will be running this one myself.

This is #3. It stetches a bit more than the others and is a bit more sative in high and growth structure. It's actually a bit more like the Wappa mother, whereas the others are more of a hybrid (Wappa x Thin Mint Cookies) structure.

Here is the infamous Wappa! We have had this clone for almost 10 years now and nothing beats it for fast-finishing yields, strong, heady high and bag appeal. It is also almost impossible to kill! It's a very strong plant and highly recommended to any commercial grower.

The Tangerine Sorbet improves on the taste, but I couldn't honestly say it is THAT much better than the orignal Wappa, which is still a winner. Perhaps we will find an equal winner in the Tangerine Sorbet but right now they are quite similar. I do prefer the Tanergone Sorbet taste, though.

Actually, the Tangerine Sorbet are easier to trim, so that is definitely a plus. But I don't know if they will outyield the Wappa.

I've been growing a couple of Glowstarz and they've turned out quite nicely.

This is Glowstarz #4. It has quite long internode spacing but nice chucnky buds at each node whicvh will be a joy to trim (for someone who hates trimming!). The smells are very pepperminty, fuely wth a hint of rotten/fermented fruit. This plant will be harvested today. It pretty much looks like picture-perfect Glowstarz, according to the breeder's description, with some crowning in later flower.

This is Glowstarz #5 that was harvested a few days ago and is already dry. I tried a small sample last night and it is a nice smoke that is quite clear and cut through everything else. It should be a very pleasant experience once fully cured.

Both plants went about 8.5-9 weeks from seed. This one is a little leafier and not as oily or smelly as the plant above, but it looks like it will yield better. That's a 15L (4 gallon) pot for reference.

Time for an update on how the 4x4 tent is doing. These plants are all at 6-6.5 week of flower. Most will go for 9-10 weeks.

Rainbow Road #3 bottom left, Tangerine Sorbet #5 next to it, Tangerine Sorbet #2 in the middle, 931 (SFV OG x Skunk) back left, and Glowstarz #4 back right.

Here is how Tangerine Sorbet #2 turned out. Such a pleasre to trim! This one is a keeper for sure and will get another rotation soon. It was well and truly finished at 8 weeks of flower.

That leaf to calyx ratio is crazy man... 8 weeks!! wow lol
Gotta say that piques my interest

how much defol would you say you did, or is it mostly natural? I had one pheno [not one of these strains///edit] last run with a nice ratio like this and when I trimmed it I thought the same thing lol. If it has the desired effect, this is a pheno I'd love to grow more because of how much easier it was to trim than the rest of my harvest

hope you're doing great prawn. Always love the content man. I'm going to be very active soon so I hope you enjoy the stuff im going to be putting up! I could use some guidance , and will be putting in all the parameters I possibly can on my new grow. Got seedlings going now. I'll be posting up eventually once results show with plenty of info on my setup this round I would appreciate any help once things get going, even if its little critiques

following your grows is an inspiration. Keep up the great work!

Thanks mate. I hardly defoled this one at all. I pulled off a couple of fan leaves at the main stem/branch junctions early in flower, but that was it. This plant grows naturally like you see, which is why it was so easy to trim. I trimmed it last night and it took hardly any time at all. I'd guess the yield on this one will be about 5-6oz.

The other strains you should look at for this type of structural growth are Wappa (the original – it shares the same mother with Tangerine Sorbet and the new Caramba strain, which I will be growing out in a couple of months) and Caramba – as mentioned. Wappa is very hard to beat as a commercial strain, because it is really easy to grow and very hardy and mold-resistant. It finishes in 7-8 weeks and the high is really nice, leaning very much on the sativa side (but still very strong!).

I'm still dialling in my current system and will be running two Tangerine Sorbet with two Sweetopia and one Glowstarz next run, but I will be vegging a little longer and pruning a bit more to encourage more branching, as well as develope the root system more before they go into the big pots. This last run the seedlings had not really filled out their small pots first before they were transplanted, so although the plants grew nicely and the yield is decent, they could have been bigger. The last two Glowstarz I grew in this tent that had been allowed to veg longer yielded 7-8oz each, which is what I would hope to get from each plant when I grow five of them at a time. I should really be getting 2.5lb a grow from this set-up under 600W of LED toplight and 50W of side-lighting. I'm not quite there yet.

Glowstars is another strain I've been impressed with. The pheno I kept goes longer, at 9 weeks, but the yield is large and the taste, smell and high are amazing! I'll post photos of the latest Glowstarz soon.

"Say hello to my little friend!"

This is Glowstarz #4 and it is an absolute beauty. Currently at 65 days of flowering, it still has a couple more days to go. Trichs are now mostlly cloudy, but there are still quite a few white pistils and she continues to stack calyxes.

Although Glowstarz is advertised as an 8-week strain – and the other phenos did finish at 8 weeks when I grew them – this pheno is very much sativa dominant, which is also reflected in the nice, energetic head high.

As you can see, she is the last to be harvested, but is also likley to be the biggest yielder. Very happy with this one and I plan to grow it each run. I'm also thinking of crosing it with a nice haze . . . but that's something I'll do down the track.

Awesome looking grow @Prawn Connery I can just about feel the sticky through my monitor.

I use Buddie lights in my little cloning tent, I like the way the plants can get light from multiple directions in the little tent so taller plants don't block the shorter ones.

Hey, great to hear from you mate! Yes, they are pretty flexible the old Buddies and I use a very similar set-up for my own cloning cabinet.

I hope everything goes well for you soon. I know you've had a bit going on, and this hot weather doesn't help! But a cooler change is coming , and as with everything, persistence will pay off. You just have to get back on that old bike and ride the bitch!

Here's the latest round. The last grow yielded 29oz, which is OK but I'm hoping to do a little better this time around.

In the front we have two Sweetopia, left and right, then in the middle is a different Tangerine Sorbet pheno #1 (the biggest yielder we have found out of 8x Tangerine Sorbet so far), back left is a Kosher Kush clone gifted to me by another grower, and back right is the 931 (930C #1).

Subbed up great grows as always prawn. Never thought you would go to led lights over your vertical grows of years ago but as always your making me a believer looking at those beautiful plants. I will have to try led sometime soon.
I grew out the Swiss bliss many years ago from your recommendation and was really a nice smoke. I also did the whiteberry from paradise seeds that was pretty tasty.

4 x Whiteberry in veg.
4 x 4 tent. 24 hour light.
HLG550R led turned down to min ~ 220 watts.
PPFD ~ 480
6" fan blowing air about.
Extraction fan is a 75mm 12v pc fan.
Probably about 20°C in there.
I pulled them out to clean them up an get a good look at them.

It'll be interesting to see how fast they are to finish.
I normally grow 10 - 11 weekers.
I'd imagine they are not particularly big yielders?

Yes mate, I'm a believer now. Still need to get used to growing horizontally, but the results have been pretty good so far. I do have plans for a vertical LED grow which are coming along slowly but surely.

Popped some 15-year-old Atomical Haze seeds a few months ago. Here they are at about 8 weeks of flowering. The one on the right will go for at least 11 weeks. The other two will be finished in 10 weeks. There are a couple of Glowstarz hiding at the back, but the Hazes have overgrown the tent.

The plant on the right is an infamous Stinky Catpiss Haze pheno. Although this one is slightly sweeter than the original Stinky Catpiss I grew 15 years ago. These plants are from the same seed stock and were among the original Atomical Haze test seeds. I ended up with two Stinky Catpiss phenos out of the 16 females I grew.
