I'll have to fire off an email to Luc. I put the pack of white berry in tissue on the 9th May and none popped :(
That's no good mate. Were they old seeds? I'm sure Luc will sort you out. I've not grown it, but White Berry seems to have a good rep.

Whilst hoking for the white berry packet I came across a vial of seeds inside a small Ziploc bag labelled "Chongs Choice".
I'm not sure what they are.
Are they a mix of Tommy Chongs offerings? One of each seed? I haven't a clue!
How many seeds in it? I onder if they're a mix of LA Amnesia, Mendiciuno Skunk and Blue Kush Berry?

Here's an update on the Rainbow Road. They have all had their first week of 12/12 now and have started to stretch a little but no real flowers developing yet.

Here is the sativa-dom, #1

Here is the grower's favourite, #5. This one appears to be growing fastest and has more of a hybrid structure.

Here is another of his favourites, #4

And here is the trifoliate mutant #2 standing next to #5

I contacted Paradise Seeds about the White Berry seeds and they are promptly sending a new packet.
The original seeds were actually a few or three years old and they were very kind to offer replacements.
I mentioned this thread to them too so you'd better be on your 'A' game @Prawn Connery as I'm sure they'll look in from time to time! :bigjoint:
Thanks Paradise
Whiteberry was a good strain if its still the same idk aint seen any in years it be good if it was the same good luck man

I'm on it mate! :weed:

Some more updates, this time the Glowstarz (actually 930C test seeds) and Tangerine Sorbet.

The Glowstarz are at 3 weeks from seed now, and it's starting to get very crowded in the propagation tent. The Tangerine Sorbet are just under two weeks old and are really going off, but there's one mutant in the bottom left-hand corner that has a fused main stem, so the growth is starting to appear more prominently from the first node. Sometimes mutants can be good and sometimes they can be a waste of space, but it's hard to know until they have started flowering.

Here's a good view of the propagation light, a High Light 420 Gen2 3500K propagation LED set at 135W at the moment. These lights grow big leaves due to the more than 10% Far Red, but they don't stretch due to the UV, which also helps with root growth.

Bit of eye candy before the next update.

Paradise Seeds Wappa (right) and Chimera Seeds C4 (left). This is our almost 10-year-old Wappa clone selected from 10 females back in around 2013. Everything is growing under High Light 420 Gen2 LED grow lights, which I designed (and are now sold by @Grow Lights Australia ). Note the bleached top on the Wappa – this grow is looked after by a freind of mine who can be a bit slack at times when it comes to topping and training. He would have much better results if he scrogged, but I guess it makes for some nice-looking cola plants.
IMG_7593.jpeg

Roles reversed: C4 in the front and Wappa behind. These are different plants to those above. The Wappa came down after this photo but the C4 still had 2-3 weeks to go.
IMG_7635.jpeg

I grew the C4 out from seed before I gave them to my mate. Here they are at two weeks under a 3500K propagation board.
C42Weeks.jpg

And six days later at 20 days. Something different from the multiple Paradise Seeds strains in this thread. I'm also a big fan of Chimera Seeds.

Mate, that's quite a production line you have going! It's very ambitious! I'm sure all the growers will do you proud.

Cheers mate. It's about to get even more ambitious as I've just germed another 4 feminised seeds of Sensi Star for another grower. That means we will have four growers participating in this thread now.

Sensi Star

Sensi Star is the bomb. Still one of the strongest indicas out there. These are the femmed verision, which is slightly different to the old regular version (seeds of which I still have). I had an old Sensi Star clone that was a real indica pheno that I kept for many years and if we're lucky we might find something simlar in this run, but the indica pheno was pretty rare and you would usually only find one in every 10-pack of regular seeds.

I will have some more updates soon as I'm just shuffling the grow room around at the moment getting ready to flower the Glowstarz.

The Tangerine Sorbet seedlings have gone to their new home and I will try to update those in a week or two.

When to repot?

It's a good question and there is a simple answer: the first signs of a plant needing to be repotted are when the lower leaves start to yellow. This assumes there is not a general NPK deficiency to begin with. When a plant outgrows its pot, and the roots start to bind up with little space left to expand, plant growth will slow and the bottom leaves will start to yellow as the plant loses its ability to uptake enough nutrient to sustain its present rate of growth. You may also see other signs of nutrient deficiency, such as calcium spots, but generally speaking if your plant starts to yellow near the bottom then one of the first things you should check is that it hasn't outgrown its pot.

So these are the Glowstarz/930C in their new pots. This is exactly one week after the last Glowstarz update – the plants are now 4 weeks from seed and will be topped in the next few days (to avoid stress after the transplant) and will then be put into flower.
IMG_7730.jpeg

This is my current set-up: The 4' x 4' tent was donated by @MarsHydrofactory – I didn't ask for it, but they sent it anyway, so I decided to use it. They also sent me a new FC4800 LED grow light, and I am currently conducting a side-by-side with some Grow Lights Australia lights, which I will post soon.

In the mean time, these plants are now under 500W of High Light 420 "Longboards" with Gen2 3100K spectrum LED panels. These lights have over 10% Far Red and 1% UVA. There are four High Light panels (2x Longboards) being run off a HLG-600H-48A driver, which is currently dimmed to 500W from the wall.

Here are the new Sensi Star seeds under 30W of Buddies string lights. I love Buddies – there's not much they can't do – and these ones are 4000K CRI95, which is a good spectrum for cloning and raising newly sprouted seedlings, as the diffuser lenses in the Buddies spread the light out which avoids hotspots.

These seeds haven't popped yet, but will benefit from the warmth of being in the cabinet. On a related note, has anyone here ever cloned a bud? It can be done, and I have a couple of buds from two outdoor plants that have rooted and are now reverting back to vegetative growth so that I can grow them out again. This is a technique I use when I haven't planned to clone a plant, but it has surprised me during flowering – hence wanting to preserve the genetics.

Ever notice they don't fully reverse or loose vigour greatly Prawn? My experience is once the reveggs done they grow very strong but others say so...

Looking good, I'm excited about the Mars vs GLA side by side! After all the Mars doesnt have such a rich full spec. If done with clones that may show some differences in growth or speed of budding?

Hi mate, it's been a while since I cloned any buds but in my experience – when revegged properly – it doesn't seem to make any difference at all. They grow out and flower just like any other plant.

However, there is one phenomenon the other growers you mentioned might be getting confused with. If you take clones after the onset of flowering and you do not re-veg them FULLY, then they will stetch and produce elongated buds that don't fill in as much. You need to keep revegging until the new leaves go from 1, to 3 to 5 to at least 7 fingers or more before you reflower. As a general guide, for every week of flowering before you take the clones, you will need the same amount of time to fully reveg. So if you take a clone at 2-3 weeks of flower, it will take 2-3 weeks before they fully reveg. But if you take them at 6-7 weeks of flower, then it can take more than a month for them to fully reveg (not including the time it takes to clone).

Also, as we know, clones will finish flowering faster than seedlings – by up to a week or more.

As for the Mars vs GLA grow, there are two plants – the same clone – in a 4'x8' tent that has been divided into 2x 4'x4' areas with a screen down the middle. On one side is a GLA 500W Quad and on the other is a Mars Hydro FC4800, which also uses a 480W driver. The Mars light pulls about 460+W from the wall and the GLA Quad pulls 490+W. Both plants are getting the same nutrient and other conditions, so it will be interesting to see the difference in yield and especially cannabinoid levels. I know the GLA fixture pulls a few more watts from the wall, but they both use 480W drivers and the Mars light is suposed to be a 480W light. It's just that the Mean Well drivers we use put put more power than the cheap, no-name drivers Mars uses. I think it is a Moso driver or something like that.

doesn't Mars use meanwell drivers? I'm also looking forward to this side by side!

I just visited my mate who is growing the Rainbow Road and his plants look great. They have been flowering for 3 1/2 weeks and the budsites have all formed.

Of the five plants, one is very sativa (#1) and looks like it might go 10-11 weeks – that would be the Strawberry Sativa pheno. The trifoliate mutant (three main stemmed plant) is a little bit behind the others, but has thick branches and what are looking like heavier, indica type buds. The mutant is #2 and next to that is #4 which is the most indica of the five. It has a sweet, menthol smell to it. The other two, #3 and #5 have the best structure, like an open hybrid indica/sativa stucture with thick stems, long branches and sticky budsites that should fill in nicely.

Of #3 and #5, my pick is #3 – it has the nicest "evil" fuel-oil, menthol-berry smell and is very sticky. #5 could possibly be a bigger yielder and I'm guessing they will finish in order #4 at 8 weeks, #2 at 8.5 weeks #3 and #5 at 9 week and #1 at 10-11 weeks. #1 could be the biggest yielder if it goes 10-11 weeks.

#5 front left; #2 front right; #3 middle left; #4middle right; #1 rear left; rear righ is an AK48 that is two weeks behind the Rainbow Road so that they all finish flowering around the same time.
IMG_7757.jpeg

These three lights pull 1460-1500W combined depending on indoor temps (currently 28C and 70%RH). The grow area is roughly 2.4m x 1.2m
IMG_7799.jpeg

3x wall-mounted Mean Well HLG-480H-54AB drivers with dimmers and staggered timers.
IMG_7806.jpeg

Note how the end panel lights tilt in towards the grow. This maximises light across the canopy and reduces losses at the open end and sides.
IMG_7808.jpeg

The plants are in run-to-waste coco with Hygen nutrients. The plant in the far right corner is the AK48 which will be the yardstick for this grow. The grower has grown this particular AK48 for years with good yields and potent buds. AK48 is an 8-9 week 60/40 sativa/indica and Rainbow Road is also a 9+ week 60/40 sativa/indica.
