it is against the tos though derailing a thread is against the rules consistent back and forth arguing is as well always has been i know youre not a fan of mine, but actually had alot more positive response in politics now than not except from a select group of people

im not complaining im reminding of the rules gently, to let people know theyre straying from them, sorry you think that is complaining
Is there a thread or post, which more clearly outlines the specific TOS? I only ask because you referenced that derailing a thread is against the TOS, which surprised me as I don't see anything specific to that mentioned here: https://www.rollitup.org/help/terms/

But here you are. Such conviction.

Aren’t they like alternative facts?
As I said, I will continue to provide an alternate viewpoint. If the facts that I provide are alternative to the mainstream narrative, then so be it, however I just posted an actual fact today which debunks Wired's "fact check". So, perhaps in some cases "alternative facts" are really actual facts, specifically when the mainstream "fact check" in question, turns out to be clear misinformation.

Yes the forum has gotten better but IMO it’s because the name calling and bullying has been, for the most part, Eliminated. The arguing, I’ll call it debate, be that right or wrong, is what makes this, the political forum, interesting, again IMO. Besides I don’t want to go outside, my options are limited lol.

When threads are kept alive past the time when everybody has had their say, they become what I call zombie threads. The subject has been dissected down to the sub atomic level. Everything that could be said on the subject has been said. It's propped up by a few shit posting hard heads who deny what science can tell us about Coronavirus and vaccines. A few marathoners hang in there countering false posts. It's necessary if this forum is to remain a true political forum. Without posts to counter the false narratives, fake science and outright propaganda some people feel the need to post here, this forum would descend into a pit of science denying conspiracy theories and right wing propaganda. However, once the back and forth becomes repetitive, the thread loses its purpose and becomes what you said.

Zombie threads -- ones ones like this -- whose bones have been picked over so much that the thread is dead but it keeps moving due to people who refuse to acknowledge it need to be locked. imo, There is a lot of history stored here so not wanting the thread deleted, just, it's time to end this story.

You don't know that. Put up a poll, and we'll see what the majority opinion really is.
Science isn't a democracy. When it comes to facts and reality, one is either completely right or hopelessly wrong.

The fact is, after hundreds of millions of people getting vaccinated. Outcomes have been examined, evaluated, discussed, and assessed. It is clear that the vaccines are safe and effective.

(submitted as an example of dumbass repetitive back and forth shit posts in a zombie thread.)

Shouldn’t the pandemic thread end when the pandemic ends?

I don’t believe we are out of the woods yet and there is much to learn about this virus. Particularly its potential impact on long term health. If posts containing information about vaccinations (which the topic already has many threads) are pulled this could still be an informative thread.

New and slippery variants are emerging faster than we can respond to them.

It is also big news in China with a lot of people dying, so between new variants, vaccines, treatments and countering science denialism it is still useful to have around. It is a small community here and bullshit doesn't take long to be countered and called out. Such views and disinformation aren't automatically promoted by algorithms and prorogated to a mass audience on a forum such as this, therein lies the danger, this place is not mass media like twitter or FB, the information architecture is different, so the rules can be too.

I go to the cafe everyday for breakfast and coffee (bottomless cup) just to feel a "part of". I like that feeling.
Facts say I should live in a bubble because of immunity issues.

Thank you for the shot.

Fact vs Feeling vs Ego. OMG! I'm the deep state! :eyesmoke:
Did you know that people living with autoimmune disease and those on immunosuppressive therapies were not included in initial clinical trials for the COVID-19 vaccine?

Of course they were, they would skew the results and they would not produce antibodies, even if infected naturally. However some such people can be helped by vaccines, even upping the dose, or they can use antiviral medications. This is an irrelevant fact and point, people are always excluded from clinical trials for one reason or another.

It's not irrelevant. If there were no people living with autoimmune disease or on immunosuppressive therapies included in initial clinical trials, then we have no way of evaluating the safety of the jabs on said individuals.

Same with Polio, Diphtheria. Dang them, I'm just glad folks stepped up back then.
We have a long way to go, I'm just doing my part.
Got my flu shot last thursday.
I believe that everyone should make their own medical choices, but that they should also do so with full information. I would proceed with caution, as Flu shots have been known to aggravate autoimmune diseases.

Until we know.
Kinda like a hazardous intersection, traffic control will go up.

Funny, Dr. told me the same thing about sunshine. But thanks for the warning.

My opinion is my own. It is based upon subjective belief. I'm not saying mine is the only right one to have, it's just my opinion for the following reason:

It's not a pandemic anymore anyway. Covid is as endemic as the flu. The pandemic, when a novel virus rapidly spread among the world's population with no immunity and there was no remedial treatment or preventative treatment for it. When Covid caused medical systems to crash and enormous numbers of dead or dying to treat. That is over. Just about everybody with functioning immune systems have built up an immunity at some level to it. We could see a new mutation that starts the pandemic all over again but it would not be the "Coronavirus 2020" pandemic.

But THIS thread has devolved into repetitive back and forth statements that are not really about the epidemic. It's more of a antivax vs provax thread at this point. If you look at the War thread, for example, it's about current events, events that can't be disputed. Other posts are tracking developments towards the historic event of a former president being tried and probably convicted for crimes he committed while president. THIS one has become a repository for repetitive false conspiracy theories and a repetition of why those conspiracies are false. Maybe a new thread is needed. IDK, all I know it this thread has become banal.

Argue with the scientists who excluded them or the ethicists who approved and monitored the study. If you read up on it enough you might find out why such people are routinely excluded from studies. The point is there is nothing unusual about this and it is much ado over nothing.

Have you noticed the side effects including death that many of the TV ads for prescription drugs mention? Some of the side effects and risks are very extensive, yet they advertise it on TV and allow it to be sold. There are far more deaths from aspirin every year, than from covid vaccines, crusade against that.
