Ozonating the AG res. water? (Air-Pump Question)

It has been a lotta years since I've grown indoors and I am just about to reintroduce myself to it with this supposed-NASA technology AeroGarden. BTW - Just ordered the newest PRO200 with the more intense lights. Any reports on how that one is working out yet?

I have seen ALL (I can't believe I read the whole thing!) the posts on the AG and what to do and what not to do. But, my question is about another new technology that wasn't readily available when I was growing back in the day: OZONATORS! I see that everyone insists that a pump and stone are mandatory for the AG reservoir.

Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge about using a Ozonator (O3) in place of a regular airpump?

The reason I ask is that I have a portable UV Ozonator that would work perfect on a timer (don't think I would want it running continuously - Like I'm assuming I'd be doing with an airpump). And, I was wondering what, if any, negative affects the (O3) would have on the roots, plants, environment. My assumption (and hope) is that the ozonated water would be less apt to get any algae and the smell of the ozone being produced would neutralize the plant smell (to a certain extent).

THANKS in advance to anyone who has experimented with (O3) and can respond! Or, PLEASE, respond with air-pump details (run continuously?, recommended size for the AG?, etc...)!

Otherwise, I will report my test results. (And, no! I'm not gonna test out the (O3) vs (O2) theory on some Lowryder #2 seedlings.) I just started two Pro 100's with the included seeds (i.e. Cherry Tomato & Gourmet Herbs) just to see how they (AG)s are gonna work and get a feel for growing anything 'oponic' indoors again.

Once I've got some tomato/herb roots hanging, I'll start the ozonated bubbling test in one and a regular pump and stone in the other... unless someone here tells me that the (O3) is a def "No-No".

Ciao for now,
Attilio

YOuw on't be able to use any 'living' nutes. THe o3 will kill them too. Doesn't just mask the odors it kills the cause of the odor. VV
