Over Fertilization in Hydroponics

How does a person recover from Nitrogen Burn where the leaves are curling under?

About three days ago, my budding plants (5 weeks) spurted about 4 inches in one day. I know nitrogen will make them stretch. I think my PPM meter needs a new probe so I was running Lucas too high.

When I try to calibrate my meter the numbers wont stop rolling, they jump all over the place. OK, whatever, so I borrowed one from a friend of mine til I can get a new probe.

I flushed them for about a day and a half, clean water. I noticed a magnesium deficiency so I brought the PPM up to 400 and gave them some cal mag. This stopped the deficiency but the leaf curl is still there. I know that heavily foliar spraying them with water will dilute the nitrogen built up in the leaves but they are too far along budding. After a day soaking up some Cal mag and a bit of micros, I flushed them out again tonight. I gave them cal-mag and a little B1. I will let them run that tonight then give them some weak nutes tomorrow.

How long will it take to get rid of the curl. I have gotten rid of it in about five days in dirt, should happen faster in Hydroponics. Anyone have any experience with this in Hydroponics?

They actually dont look that burnt, the leaf tips are barely burnt, they actually look relatively healthy, besides the curled shade leaves.

Here are some pictures I took tonight.

to me they look fine, my motto is getting them into flower in one piece, by the time one figures he has a problem and corrects it, its time to flush. anyways you run the E&G right? a good thorough flush takes a few days with this system with a change out daily, my expierience with GH nutes is very salty and i can only imagine wat kinda salts you got going on within the tubing. my judgment and yours aswell lead me to believe your on the right track, couple days with straight water, good luck and they look great

I checked them just before the light went off at 7 AM, they look a lot better. Im beginning to step the nutrients back up. Will err on the side of caution and bring them up to 1000 and keep it there til they are done.
