outdoor odor control and other questions????

Hello,

I have some poison afghan seeds i want to grow outside this season. I have 10 acres of land but its close to a river where alot of people and an occasional game warden float by and its mostly open field.

I think i know where im going to plant them to conceal them but im worried about the smell. Is there anyway to control smell outdoors? these are supposed to have a strong smell. Would pileing up a mound of goat shit or some other manure be enough to mask the scent? How far can the smell of strong MJ travel outdoors?

I've seen helicpoters fly over before, not sure if they were looking for anything or if they were law enforcement but better safe than sorry. We get alot of weeds around here that grow about 3-5ft high and vines that climb halfway up pine trees. How noticeable are MJ plants from the air when mixed in with other weeds? These plants are supposed to get upto 10 ft outdoors.

Any and all help is appreciated.

1. yes a pile of shit would probly cover it up pretty nicley but i've never had to worry about ppl smelling it so idk
2. yes cops do fly over head specificly to spot grow ops IN SOME STATES i cant remember wut the camera is called but i do know that marijuana's top sides of leaves have something that blocks uv light and than during budding its even worse and they have a camera that can see this. i will look online for more details about it and post it here

Dude i dont know about all that uv dectection shit.... up here in CANADA, lol helicopters use like a thermal imaging camera, and it detects heat. MJ puts off more heat than average plants, so the mj plants will stand out, unless they are in small patches, harder to detect. Thats why alot of ppl plant weed by corn feilds because corn also puts off alot of heat. As far as the pile of shit goes... idk if i would do that, it could possibly attract alot of animals, and i woodnt want animals near my grow spot, it could bring hunters, or animals that eat weed lol. I heard about ppl putting a dead skunk, roadkill by their grow, not to many animals mess around with a dead skunk, plus it has quite a strong odour to mask weed smell somewhat lol, hope that helps, happy tokin :weed:

UV cameras that detect heat. Really? They mainly spot grows because people plant in rows and stomp out paths in thick brush. Rivers or creeks are the number 1 places they like to look too because of the easy water access. Everybody think about this one time. Put your hand up to any plant and see if you feel heat coming off. If they did have a camera that picked up heat from plants wouldn't a 80 year old tree 20x the size of a pot plant put off more heat. If you watch any cop show where there is someone trying to hide in the bushes and they use the thermal camera all you see is a bright red person. You don't see bright red plants. As for the smell go fishing. Throw your fish not to close mind you around your grow spot. Rotting fish stinks like hell.

Unless u got 100's of plants, smell not a problem. MJ does not give off more heat than any other plant, geeez ppl,.LEO, does have infared that picks up heat being vented from a grow, or a barn roof , from big lites inside, but thats all. Staggart your plants, plant around edges of clearings , rather than in the middle. Blackberry bushes camo plants well. lol this season.

Marijuana's color is different from the vast majority of "normal" outdoor plants, trees, weeds, etc. That is how grows are spotted from the air. My brother-in-law is a border patrol agent in Texas and he's told me how they spot grows. There is no difference in the heat signature of marijuana from any other plant, that is a ridiculous statement. Infrared cameras are used to detect excessive heat from indoor grows only, not outdoors. Cleared areas, easy to see trails, and the difference in the coloration are the main methods used to spot outdoor grow operations.

Lol....y'all r funny...heat of a plant...maybe on cold nights I can cuddle up with some pot.
Lol...

Ok here is how u prevent spots,
If every plant in the world had perfect light, perfect soil, plenty of water, feed nuts every other week, id say they'd all b this lush green are so loved plants r,right?....so what u do is go to wall mart buy the 10-10-10 fert, and threw it out around your grow area and the sourounding area,
As for game wardens put out a bunch of "no trespassing"
Signs if they find them then they can't charge u, ...lol...which would b a lot funer to rub in there face...lol

cant mask smell outside..... just have a few diffrent plots with smaller numbers of plants... this way your almost certain to get a cropping.. dont put all your eggs in one basket

Dude to all the people making fun of heat from plants its true. Everything that is not absoulute zero puts off some kind of heat. It is true, all plants put off different amount of heat, not enough to see by the naked eye and to cuddle around for warmth, are you stupid? Law Enforcement utilize thermal imaging scopes mounted on helicopters to detect outdoor marijuana crops. Realizing that cannabis growers tend to plant their crop interspersed with other species for camouflage, they rely on the heat reflectivity of cannabis to distinguish it from surrounding vegetation. Some growers plant their cannabis near conifers (spruce, pine, fir, or coniferous shrubs) or corn in order to mask the heat signature of their plants with that of the larger trees or plants that put off more heat. Marijuana for instance puts off more heat then some plants, making it easier to detect. I know all this stuff, i knew a guy that used to look for weed in a helicopter, and he was assigned from the goverement, thats exactly what they wood do.

P.S, you should be fine growing several plants, usualy cops only look and or find big commercial patches of marijauna, if you want to grow alot, grow them in patches of usually less then ten

dead carcass can cover up smell. If it is rotted other animals will not be attracted because of the smell, it will actually repell. Id find a dead skunk and pick up with gloves bag it let it sit in the bag with a couple holes in it. sounds fucking sick but itd work. As far as helicopters, try to grow with other big green plants. They could spot that shit.

in texas yeah i could see MJ being a different color from all that scrub brush you have out there but out here we have alot of green. I am considering planting under some sumac trees(not poisonous). They grow wide spread branches that cover alot of area but still let alot of light through. They are actually a weed that grows into trees and are damn near impossible to get rid of. I'll finally have a use for them. The area where they grow is also further from the river so i dont really have to worry too much about the smell.

In the area im planning on planting i have a mound of goat shit thats been there roasting in the sun for probably around 5 years now. its been turned once i think. Would this be good to mix into the soil for the MJ or is it too old or just not good for MJ?

Does MJ blend into its surroundings well when everything around it is green or does it still kinda stick out? im pretty paranoid so seeing for myself probably wouldnt help cuz id know it was there.

I dont want to give away my exact state but lets say i live in the middle of the east coast. When should i switch my plants to outdoors and how big should they be before going outside?

a dead skunk would be very do-able around here. also im only going to grow probably 5 or less plants outside but they can get upto 10ft outside.

Would a 10-10-10 pelletized lawn fert work?

I'm sorry but where are you going to find a dead skunk? Any ways make sure you spread them out so there a ways apart a big group is liable to get you caught easier.

so if u have 3 plots. u need 3 dead skunks.....have fun putting those in a bag or truck or car. cant even imagine......in nature there is always smells...overthinking that a bit i think......u know what stinks? Lilacs plant lilac bushes all over....grow from seed......i got neighbors 20 ft either side of me and im not worried. allthough i smoke joints all the time and their always gettin a waft of flavour....i like the fish idea as fish are easier to obtain than dead skunks and the smell would be tolerable....allthough a coon would get that 1st night...dont worry about plant smell in a forest....
