First of all, I've been lurking on here for way too long (over 5 years) to not post anything, so here we go. I have a few grows under my belt, everything from aeroponics to soil and CFLs to HIDs. I've experimented with a lot of techniques in the past and have finally settled on soil under 600w lights for this run. Also, I am going to try out superroots Air Pots for the first time as I have heard only great things.

I've been slacking on writing this up, this grow actually started at the beginning of september, so these first few posts will be recapping what has happened the last few months.

Veg Room Equipment:

4.5x4.5x7 tent
4' 8 bulb t5 setup x2
4' 4 bulb t5 setup
6'' 435cfm inline fan
10,000 BTU royal sovereign A/C unit
Superroots Air Pots (various sizes) x 40
Roots Organic 707 Soil Mix
Oregonism XL, Roots Organic Nutrient Line, BMO Super Plant Tonic
Stealth RO 100 Reverse Osmosis System

And most importantly 50 TGA subcool beans, 10 different strains:

Ace of Spades, Agent Orange, The Flav, Qush, Jillybean, Kaboom, Space Bomb, Plushberry, Cheese Quake, and of course Jack the Ripper :weed:

The Grow:

In late august started a journey with 6 young mommas (freshly rooted cuts off of my other moms) from my home up north down to where I currently reside (so cal). Vortex, Qleaner, MILF, Lavender, GDP, and Permafrost. They suffered 2 days of 100+ degree heat hidden amongst gear under my truck canopy, which gave them quite a bit of stress. The permafrost didn't make it :( To top it off, they had originally been on 20/4 light, but I had to leave them outside for about 10 days while I found somewhere to live which caused them to start flowering (given the light cycle in late august/early september). Once I moved in and settled down I put them back inside and changed the light back to 20/4.

9/9 - Moved young mommas inside under t5 light, transplanted into airpots. Already started popping pistils and forming little bud sites, need to be reverted to veg :wall: putting them under a 20/4 cycle

9/12 - Apparently while outside for 10 days the mommas got thrips and whiteflies...Jesus. Sprayed with neem, got some sticky traps, trying to get my hands on ladybugs but apparently there is a nationwide shortage??? who knows if what the hydro store people say is true.

9/15 - Placed all of the TGA seeds on wet paper towels to germinate, 2 days later 90% had popped taproots. They were potted directly into roots organic 707 mix and put under t5s with 6400k bulbs and watered with pH 7.0 RO water mixed with a small amount of BMO Super Plant Tonic (great stuff). Sprayed mommas with neem again, don't see any thrips or whiteflies but that doesn't mean they're not there...

9/18 - Only 1 seed hasn't popped, the rest are in soil just starting to emerge. Still battling thrips and whiteflies in small numbers with neem. I barely see any adults but there is damage on the chlorophyl of lower leaves that is indicative of larvae activity. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if they show up again.

9/23 - Almost all the seedlings are showing cotyledons, many starting to form 1st set of true leaves. Mommas looking way better, still making single leaflets though.

Here are some pictures of the babies. Especially interesting are the two sets of JTR twins (double taproot pictured), and the trifolate kaboom which is more vigorous than any other plant in the garden. sorry about the shitty camera...

10/5 - Had an accident about 5 days ago where the circuit blew on my A/C causing temps to rise over 107 for a few hours in the room!!! Scared the shit out of me but the mommas and the babies managed to live through it! This plant always amazes me :weed: The leaves are showing some burnt spots on the tips and sides, but that is a minor setback compared to what could've happened (total death and destruction). Luckily I had transplanted a bunch of them a few days before this happened so they didn't dry out in their tiny coco pots

10/15 - Topped mommas, transplanted some seedlings into bigger pots. Thrips and Whiteflies 95% gone, still unsure where the lurkers are but they're out there...

10/18 - Babies are a month old and looking beautiful. Anywhere from 8-15 inches tall, some more vigorous than others. A bunch have yellow/crispy leaves from the roasting hot day, so aesthetically they don't look great but they are super healthy. As you can see the mommas are still throwing single leaflets, but starting to improve a little bit. They are super wilty in this picture because I went too long between waterings  sorry its so blurry - i need to get a new camera desperately. check out the kaboom trifolate looking beautiful

10/20 - Repotted a bunch of the babies into airpots, trimmed off yellowing/crispy leaves from the 107 degree day.

10/21 - Finally got my hands on some ladybugs, they're loving the garden and munching up the helpless larvae  plus they get stuck on my clothes and then i find them everywhere throughout the house which is the best. what a beautiful beneficial little creature. hoping to get some mantis' when they are available, just hoping they wont munch my ladybugs (wishful thinking i know).

10/28 - Mommas and babies are looking good, some of the youngins are starting to show tiny preflowers, hoping for ladies!!! Started to setup the flower room today in preperation. Here's what I got so far.

Secret Jardin Darkroom Pro II roughly 8x8x7
(7) 6'' Air Cooled Hoods
A bunch of Hortilux 600 HPS bulbs, one 600 MH
(7) Digital Ballasts of varying styles
13,000 BTU SoleusAir A/C unit
Dehumidifier
6'' 435cfm inline fan for cooling lights
(25) 4.6 gallon superroots air pots
C.A.P. MLC-8XT light controller/timer

11/01 - Wired up the MLC today. Had to buy 8/2 Romex and a 50-amp breaker, wire through my garage, up into my attic, and then down into the flower room. This part was significantly harder than hooking up the MLC itself, which is just hooking up three wires. Plugged in 3 lights and its running fine, hoping that I wont fry my ballasts because the MLC put off 220v power and I don't know what my ballasts are wired for internally. Took apart one of the ballasts and it doesnt seem adjustable at all...are there ballasts that can take both 220 or 110 without having to manually flip a switch or change a wire or something??? Would be great to know just for safety.

11/02 - Many of the preflowers are starting to develop enough to be determinable. So far about 5 females (positive because they have pistils ) and 8 males (pretty sure because they be lookin like nuttss) Put the supposed males into another closet under a t5 as the beginning of a quarantine/seperation regime. Took cuts off of a bunch of the teens and mommas so that I can have something to flower ASAP.

11/03 - Ran out of rockwool taking cuts last night so I had to run and grab more this morning. Continued to take cuts off mommas and teens, fimmed a few of the teens as well, took top cuts off the moms to keep them bushy.

11/04 - Took cuts from a bunch of the supposed males. About 10 in question now. Lots and lots of cuts from mommas and teenies.

11/13- First roots starting to show from some of the cuts. 4 out of 5 GDP already rooted and popping out the bottom of the rockwool all over. God damn. Almost all other cuts have no visible roots except a few Plushberry, Jillybean, and Agent Orange. Bought some more flats and took a bunch more cuts from now known ladies and males. 21 ladies, 15 men. A few still left to show. lots and lots of cuts now.

11/14 - Took final cuts off of the known males before giving them the chop. I am saving the genetics for a friend but he wont be able to pick them up for a while so I'm keeping them somewhat paused in time sexually by cutting them. Lots of male leaf in a bag. Any suggestions. Rick simpson oil anyone? are there still beneficial medical substances in male tissue? would be great to know...

K now we are basically up to date, there will be more posts with pictures to come over the next few days. What do y'all think??
