Organic pesticide damage

Hi everyone,

It’s been years, since I’ve been on this forum. Same thing applies to growing. I’ve moved back to San Diego, CA back in 2017 and just recently started growing again. Here’s what I got:

I picked up 4 clones of Dosido from Marsh & Ash. I’m using 1/3 each of coco fiber, perlite and vermiculite as a grow medium. I’m growing outdoors for the first (well, second time) and I’ve been dealing with a lot bugs, damaging my plants. I ended up buying and using an organic pesticide…which has nearly killed my plants. One out of the four is starting to recover. But the other three, are still in the same shape. Should I cut the upper portion of the stem, in order to promote new growth?I attached some pictures for reference.

That’s a weird medium choice?
What product are you saying caused this damage??

Weird medium? How so? Works well and I’ve used it in the past, for many grows.

As far as the organic pesticide, I used Ecosmart Home Pest Control. What’s strange, is that I’ve used this pesticide in the past, with no problems. Until now…

I don’t think that stuff is really for plants. More like spraying around the house and yard snd shit.

as far as your medium. It’s just unique don’t see many people usinganything like that. Even more so outside. What are you planning on feeding?

I have Fox Farm nutrients but I’m thinking of switching to General Organics. It’s getting pretty hot here. So I’m watering everyday and giving them nutrients, every other day.

Nope, only on the leafs. This sucks…
Active Ingredients:2-Phenethyl propionate ... 2.0% Clove Oil ... 1.0% Rosemary Oil ... 1.0% Peppermint Oil ... 1.0%Thyme Oil ... 0.5%Other ingredients* ... 94.5%TOTAL ... 100.00%*Water, octadecenoic acid potassium, salt, and lecithin
yeah im gonna side with @green_machine_two9er in so much as that doesn't seem like a softcore foliar spray to me either

Anything that has an active ingredient of “salt”. Hmmm kinda scary for plants. I mean I dump salt down my sewage pipe just to kill the damn tree roots growing into the pipes….

You might as well save the money from switching to fox farm to GH and buy some actual plant specific pesticide.
Organic does not mean good.
I really like pure crop 1.
Or go with pyrethrim type spray. Or spinosad.

for reference i use vegetable oil and soap in my foliar sprays. 2TSP (light) to 1 gal, that equals 0.5% now look at the ratios of Ecosmart....they've cranked up the ratios to dangerous levels and added an estered alcohol for giggles....sprinkled with not one but 2 salts. lol

I’m going to research making my own pesticide. Do you think, cropping the tops off, will help with growth and getting them back on track? I’ve never done that before. Oh and thanks for the feedback!

Research away!!
If you want my honest opinion getting back on track, it would involve starting over. Those clones look like they’ve been through hell and back. And a slight topping now won’t do anything but piss em off more.

Sounds good! I’m going to leave them alone and see, how they do. I have about 8 seedlings going and their about ready to get planted. Thanks for the feedback!

What’s up everyone! Here’s an update. All 4 plants are improving and getting back on track. Only 1 out of the 4 is still a little rough. But over all, their back to growing new branches and leads. Resilient little bastards!!! Lol

This has nothing to do with it, but your grass looks great. I dont know if its synthetic or not from the picture, but if its real grass, then you got some nice grass man.

That word "organic" is a slippery slope.
