Check those buds thoroughly. I was at a friends who was trimming up a plant they had just cut. Buds looked fine. I was looking at one and noticed something odd. Found a bunch of these in the buds. :o No rot or any other signs. They had burrowed into the buds. It's pretty disgusting.

On a run to Portlandia today I noted, for the first time, what I believe are pot fields along I-5. Saw several 40 acre fields of what looked lilke waist high Indicas each with 8-10 nice colas that have gotta be getting close. It's an inspiring sight. Regret not having the spouse take a photo to post.

The fields started 50 meters away from the freeway, so it may just have been wishful thinking, but I don't think I was just dreamin'.

That reminds me, anyone else interested in a Valley meet-up? Maybe a brewpub near Salem would be central if there are PDX folks interested, or maybe Albany if everyone is in the mid-valley. Who else?

Those are most likely hemp fields. There are hemp fields all around in my area. They are going through and cutting off just the buds and leaving the skeletal remains in the ground. The one's around us are growing Cherry Wine.

Depends on what you're looking for and what area you're in. We have 360 miles of coastline, so lots of variety. Lincoln City and N, including Cannon and surrounding, are heavy tourist areas due to proximity to Portland. Waldport and S, things get a bit less frenzied and you can actually find deserted beaches.

Cannon beach is nice, just spent a weekend there less than a month ago. I also like Lincoln City, and have a newfound liking to Seaside.

On another note, I finally took down my last plant. It finished up looking really impressive. Not the size but the general look, structure, and ripeness.

It could've gone a bit longer but the temps were going below freezing on a frequent basis. I was definitely ready to get Steve down, and hanging up.

It was great being able to set the whole plant on my work bench and spin around as needed to trim. Much easier on my hands and back.

It's been hanging in the garage for 4 days now. Temps are pretty low, and so are the humidity levels. It'll take a while to dry out there but o well. 20191030_164257.jpg20191030_164420.jpg20191030_165413.jpg20191030_184626.jpg20191030_184639.jpg20191030_184655.jpg

so far, here's my top 3: newport, yachats, cannon. looking for adult fun (breweries, distilleries), great seafood, something to do with a kid (aquarium, go carts, etc), beach walks, great seafood. especially razor clams. i was hoping most places would be less crowded at end of March.
location doesn't matter. renting a car in PDX.

Cannon Beach, Yachats, Lincoln City is a good choice if you want to gamble. Seaside is a popular place and has more of a downtown area with restaurants and such but being just down US 26 from Portland it gets busy and packed but so does the entire northern coast. March would be a relatively slow tourist time anywhere along the Oregon Coast. But that time of the year it could be raining and flooding in many areas. North of Cannon Beach past Gearheart you have beach access at Sunset Beach where you can drive on the beach for miles. Gearheart has access as well but it isn't as easy to get out through the sand and depending on what you're driving you could very well get stuck. If you do someone will show up in a 4 x 4 to pull you out for $20. Don't ask me how I know. I use Sunset exclusively now. Anyway, the Oregon Coast is beautiful. I hope the weather provides for an enjoyable visit when you go.

@xtsho (or anyone else with landrace grow experience), I'm on the hunt for strains with significant amounts THCV and you've mentioned some of the landrace strains that are on my radar. Have you noted differences in the quality of high provided by the landraces/IBLs you've tried? Any experiential input on strains or breeders?

Out of desperation, I'm about to order some Malawi, Mazar and Nepalese -- all alleged to have higher than normal THCV -- to try some breeding, but would prefer just buying some off-the-shelf fems that have what I want.

Sorry missed this post. It's pretty quiet here now that harvesting outdoors is done.

African sativa's tend to have the highest amounts of THCV. Durban Poison would be a good choice. I just made a cross of a landrace Mazar-I Sharif I got from The Real Seed Company and an F3 male cross of Durban + Pakistani Chitral Kush. I might have to start getting some of the crosses I make tested to know what's in them. There's a few labs almost walking distance from where I live. The one I'm looking at using does personal grow testing, wants $100 a sample, and has a 3 - 5 day turnaround.

Mornin yall! Long time no chat...so I have a question for anyone who may know. I’m light deppin again...I’m pulling my tarps on this year 12hr prior to the sunrise, so a little earlier every evening throughout and then waiting until after dark and pulling them off again for airflow. I’ve only been pullin em the last couple days...so they’re off in the morning at sunrise. does anyone have experience doin it like this? I’m wondering if I should start pulling em maybe 30 minutes earlier just to be on the safe side.

You guys are killing me with talk of planting. From last year by volunteer I have 6 volunteers. Two have already been in flower for about 6 weeks. Harversted one. Has made me carefully consider what I am putting in the ground next but I know Malawi is getting planted.

How about this awesome weather we're having?
Awesome for SURE! We invariably get a string of days like this that convinces Oregon newbs summer is here early. They uncover their roses, starting planting tomatoes, etc., etc... Then it freezes solid and we get a blanket of spring snow. SURPRISE!!!

@xtsho , Dude, you gotta head over to the Oregon 2020 thread and let us know about your summer garden.
