Started from seed on 3/1:
2 x Durban Poison (Dutch Passion)
1 x Jorge's Diamond (Dutch Passion)
1 x R2 (Getaway Mt)

I'm in the central valley and looking for THC, THCV and CBN. Need to finish by 10/7. Comments welcome.

What are the rest of you valley growers putting in the ground.

I have also just sown seeds, the plants will go outside around mid-May. In mid-May or 15 hours of light - 16 with twilight. I was wondering what photoperiod I should use... I think that using the natural 15-16 will be fine

I do 18/6 indoor until a week before I plan to put them out, then decrease 30 min/day til indoor=outdoor then boom -- into the garden they go.

I grew 6 Durban Poison about 4 years ago. Didn’t finish till mid October! If I remember correctly somewhere around the 15-20th. It’s a landrace sativa. I’m in the gorge, east slope.

I do basically the same. I look for a nice several days around the 20th of May..

One thing to consider is that if they’re indoors under T5’s try not to plop them out on really hot sunny days, sun burn can mess with them for a while!!

Yup. Typical breeder over-stated claim -- Mid- to late September. Right. I assumed early October, just from experience, so if I can get them within a week of optimal finish time I'll be happy.

Have you had any luck with other strains that are touted as being "early finishers?" I'm specifically looking for THCV so I prefer African Sativas, but a Skunk would work for me as well.

Well... my Agent Orange finished sooner than the Durban, I’ve got a fairly early Blue Dream hybrid both were more a 5th -7th of October finisher.
Finished for me is at least 20% ambers. I pull before that if I have to.. but that’s what I shoot for.

I grow DP Durban poison every year and never had them finish as late as October 20'th. I have grown about 12 the last few years and the latest was mid October with most finishing for me about Oct 10th. Im at 42°N so that could make a difference. For me it's a resistant, vigerous, dependable strain with acceptable potency.

Thanx. That's good info on multiple samples, but yeah, being down there in S. OR definitely gives you a leg up on the sunshine.

I like too look at Oregon and upper east coast outdoor grows always looking for something new. Im in the midwest next to the great lakes, by October it rains every other day and im lucky if it gets up too 70°F. I think you will like the DP it's the hardiest strain I ever grown. Im in an illegal state and grow guerilla and hit about a lb a plant with minimal care.

Ah, of course. I could have derived that from your handle, but it's easier to assume than think.

Your temps are probably 5'C higher May-Oct than ours, on average, so I'd expect a higher yield, but yeah, our rain conditions are similar in Oct, so your experience gives me cause for optimism.

I'm already growing outdoors. Found this seedling growing in one of my raised garden beds. Must have come from the trimmings of one of the plants I made seeds with. I toss my trimmings into the garden. I'm in Portland.

Put a tent on that sucker and hope for the best. If it made it through the recent cold and rain up there, it's a hardy one for sure.

I just left it with the others that came up. Had to put them in some small pots for now because I had to plant my Armenian cucumbers where they were growing. A friend was supposed to come by and get them over the weekend but they never showed. All of them just came up on their own from seeds in the scrap after harvesting seeds I tossed in the garden. Proof that if just left alone cannabis will grow on it's own without any assistance from man.

This one also came up on it's own and is doing fine without any help from me.

For photos I've had good luck with GG4, LSD, and OGS's Amnesia Hashplant. But I'm done with photos outdoors, I only grow autos outside now -- my season is wrapped up by early September before the rains come or the thieves are out sniffing around for ripe bud. After the bad plant destruction I've had with worms the last couple of years, I'm semi-retired from outdoor growing. I popped a couple of Mephisto autos this year, we'll see what happens with them. This is all I've got so far...

I grew up in Oregon as a kid, it was a wonderful place then tl grow up, not as nice now as it was then,
There is a plant jist south of you grown in Trinity , mt Shasta area , it is a old school Mr Nice they have been growing for years there , because of the mountain they needed a plant that was fast and Bullet proof , well that's what Mr Nice is, fast and bullet proof , 4 lbs is easy for it to reach in 100 gallons , 100 people cpuld grow the same plant and it would taste and smell different for each grower, the better the grower the betfer it turns out of course , potent , lots of resin and crystals and you can not fuck up this plant. You really have to do something wrong to fuck this plant over. I think you could water it with battery acid and it would turn out fine and be productive.
If you Oregon growers can get a cut of it would be a good thing Mold and rot resistant . it's not a secret hard to get cutting , so easy to find and get.
Good luck everyone on your grows

There is way to many thieves. I live in Medford Oregon. But I grow indoors all year long. I hear people getting ripped off left and right
