Ok these surebred seeds are looking bunk. Going to direct sow the other 5 pack since they have some weird germ instructions on the website not to seal or semi the seeds  I even put hydrogen peroxide in the water to prevent mold but they got white fuzz on them regardless smh. These seeds feel similar to the Key lime pie from burning bush nurseries that the entire pack didnt germ. Oh well more room to pop something else & now we really know not to fuck with surebred. Impulse buy but at least there not duds sitting in the vault no telling how many other's are a bust lol that's why I pop what I've been buying recently.

Like @806KING I didn't do anything differently. I just went 8 for 8 popping latest beans, some from almost 2 yrs ago & another old stock from Cannarado. I havent had any seeds get fuzzy like this since I started adding a bit of h202 & hanging the plastic bag they germ in vertical. These beans didnt even pop the shell when soaking & when one did on the paper towel you can tell it's rotted.

Good idea to pre rinse seeds 1st like you said no telling how the seeds have been handled in between getting them.

Bogus from the jump smh! I mean I can deal with not marketing it as a BX but damn at least give me a chance to see if the plant is worth anything. I'm better off eating them than letting them rot again lol! but I will do a direct sow.

Ok so earlier when I 1st saw the fuzz I wiped it off & and hit it with more h202 water so just checked now & there may still be hope for them. Tap root showing more & looking white. Going to give them a little more time & I opened up the bag some so it get some air.

Damn. Well I ordered 2 packs too so you're not alone. That's why I ordered Dosi-Pie from In House as well, so if surebred is bunk at least I'll have the In House to look forward to. Sorry to hear.
When I pop beans I try to make sure 3 things to ensure all poppable beans pop.
1) They're in darkness
2) They're warm
3) They're wet/moist
I know it's common sense but I just wanted to point out how pertinent the warmth is. I do paper towel in a zip lock, put it in a small box filled with black socks to keep dark, put box upside down in direct sunlight all day to incubate for free. At night I put the box by my AC vent which generally has a lot of warm airflow.
I had a bunch of small pots with unpopped beans in them that I gave up on for a few days, watered them all yesterday then left in direct sunlight and 1 of them magically popped probably due to the sun warming up the wet soil. It really surprised me because they were basically dried up for a couple days and given up on. I understand not everyone lives in Hawaii so a heatpad or heater blowing on it works too.

Edit: I guess the darkness doesn't affect pop rates but it's just to try to avoid shocking the tap root.

I follow the 3 it's warm enough to not need a heating pad you can see the condescension building up in the bag. Not 100% darkness but dark enough.

Another update it's looking like 3 out of 5 will make it but defiantly you can tell these seeds are sensitive to pop. I would even scuff the shell's a bit as they were pretty big.

I just did a drop of some nice gear from Old World Organics some nice Landrace there you guys they will go fast
Nice. These guys have some serious fire! I grew out 2 of their strains last summer from seeds I got at our local dispensary, and they were by far the most vigorous and resistant in my garden (outside). I grew their Yamhill Yumbolt and Old School Super Skunk. So stoked to see you carrying their gear!! I've been looking all over the web for some OWO beans. Thanks Toby!

I stick my finger in the starter mix and make a quarter inch crater. I then plop the seed into crater and backfill with same finger, water gently, place in warm area under my T5's and boom 3-4 days later I have seedlings. 100% germination this last round and I never even scuff.
I call it the KISS method of planting seeds. :bigjoint:

my seeds always have sat on the kitchen counter when soaking/germinating. 65-68 f year round, bright led's over head(under counter lighting), no special temp, no special nothing. uncovered jar of water is all. seeds crack within 2 days or not at all usually, straight to the rooters, all grow up to be awesome, they root fast in rapid rooters, 70f in the veg room.
