Ordering Seeds

What are your thoughts on ordering seeds from seed banks. I want to order some but wont be able to have them delivered to my house(roomies) so I was thinking about having them delivered to a friends house(w/ his permission ofcourse) I wont use my real name or use a credit card or do anything stupid like that but can he get in trouble for them? Also what are some good seedbanks that accept cash(I think most probably do) Thanks

I would order with a prepaid creadit card but your friend shouldn't get in any trouble for having seeds sent to his house the worse they do is send a letter in the mail saying your seeds were stoped at customs.

Yea no one can get in trouble for just seeds. Never send seeds to the place where you're growing or will be growing in the near future. Never send seeds to a place where other illegal shit may be going down.

The worst that will happen is customs will take them and send you the box with an unfriendly letter in it. Using a fake name really isn't that important, in my opinion. Using a separate address is, and preferably don't leave a paper trail (use cash, prepaid cc, money order (?)). I don't know of any seedbanks that don't take cash.

I just found it odd, that he can't trust his roomies not to open up a personal letter. I hope he isn't growing in a closet at home!

An envelope is mysterious, but the bright glow from under a closet door won't be?

Now of course it can be an outdoor grow....

I have made three different orders from three different seed banks. I live in the states and I have always used prepaid credit cards and had the seeds sent to my house.I have never had a problem so far... lets hope it stays that way! Good luck with your decision.

Only curious, why never buy from the same again? just looking for variety?

Yea i've bought from several seed banks...even one that said they didn't ship to the states, still got my seeds though. use a prepaid card and don't have them sent to the grow location. Nothing wrong with having seeds.

So, Ive been looking around on the internet trying to find out wheter seeds are legal or not. Ive already decided I'm going to order them, I'm just looking for something to convince him. I've heard that they are and that they arent unless they are germinated.

I'm assuming you're in the US? If so, they're illegal in every way (buy, sell, possess, germinate). Some countries allow them as 'souvenirs,' so they're legal until germination (UK, I think, hence why it's legal to sell them). But again, you're not gonna get in trouble for buying seeds, it's more of a matter of the stuff that comes from them haha

How often would you say customs gets a hold of them cause I dont really want to throw my money away, even though I konw its worth the risk.:blsmoke: I was thinking about putting in 2 seperate orders or using 2 different seed banks to increase my chances of success. Good idea or does it really matter?

Not that often, but it certainly happens. Well under 5% of the time, so it's not a huge worry. Some locations are worse than others, I've heard. I read that the Chicago hub is particularly dangerous, although no one really tracks this type of stuff so who knows? I would try 2 packages, yea, and not at the same time. Like try one...if you get it, do another. That's what I've done (not really on purpose, but I'm 2/2 so far). And try to use the same seedbank if the first one gets to you successfully.

Don't use seedbanks from Amsterdam though...apparently customs caught on to that trend a long time ago, so the UK or Canada is safer.
