Yeah, you can buy a thermostat, they're cheap as hell, Home Depot or walmart...

They come with directions on how to set up the relay.

I'm talking the same type of thermostat you use for your house.

Trust me it's not too hard.

The digital ones are better, I don't even know if you can get the mercury ones anymore, but they're a pain in the ass, you have to mount them solid to a wall...

Also, if you want actual garden equipment, CAP makes a relay thermostat... If used in conjunction with the CAP PPM-2A, you can plug it directly into the co2 regulator, and when the thermostat reaches 87 the co2 shuts off, and the vent fans kick on, the temp drops to 80, the vents shut off, and the co2 goes back on...

Products;

CAP ppm2a
CAP thermostat
-cost probably 400 bucks

Thermostat from Walmart 20-30 bucks.

Ya I can dig a walmart set up for the time being I think, thats what everything else is except my 1000w. So if I get one from there, I should still be able to hook it to my fan. It just wouldn't also shut off the co2 like the fancy timer.

Bingo.

... Hmmmm ...

I wonder if you could run a second thermostat that cuts off the co2... I don't think so because it completes a circuit when the thermostat reaches the highest selected temp or lowest selected temp... You'd need a second switch to reverse the operation...

Guess you'll have to waste a little co2.

Thermostats are pretty easy to wire up... Think of it like a light switch, there are two wires, one in one out, while it's inside there is a switch that completes the circuit. Like a toggle switch/light switch... It comes with directions, you can wire it directly into the fan's wiring/plug, or into a seperate source of power...

Follow the directions.

Holy shit, what thread is this... :?

I'm all about K.I.S.S. but I also want to be able to get a much better yield then my last grow. So there are some things I'm trying to address. Last time heat was a big issue, smell wasn't. I'm growing several skunk strains this time, so I don't want smell to be an issue, and I'm determined that heat will not be an issue.

Brilliant Picasso, thanks for the link. I am going to be using an ozone based air purifier/ionizer, but I don't really know how well it is gonna work yet, I havn't tryed it out on weed smell. That bucket system is soooo simple I WILL be making one. That will solve another issue I was working on of how to vent everything. Its also way cheaper then the $150 air scrubbers!!
To much ozone can kill you too.

I am voting for the filter exhaust setup with an independant scrubber just cleaning the inside tent air. Well, that is what I use. The success is almost instantaneous, as before I startds c=scrubbibg the inbside air I could smell somethng cokming out the exhaust. Not now!

Yep, I keep my carbon filter at the end of my exhaust, the last thing the hot air runs through is the filter...

Ya since you aid that how you do it, I'm planning the same thing. I just didn't realize you could blow the air through, I had thought you had to suck it through. I think once I get the flange put onto my hood, this will work perfect for my setup.

Suck, or blow, people might say there's a difference, but really there's not... As long as it goes through the carbon it's odor neutralized...

Also, sucking air through the hoods, instead of blowing it through is more efficient. If you're blowing air through it will find the easiest route. Usually it's through the cracks between the glass and the hood, sometimes it will blow a duct off the hood and it will batter your plants...

Sucking it through will do the opposite, it might suck extra air through the cracks, removing the hot air... Blowing blows hot air out of the cracks and into the room.

Suck, Blow.... Hahaha
