Today, when I was leaving Campus, I saw him. I saw him drive up in his motorcade, too busy with his cellphone to even glance out the window; but it was glorious nonetheless, just as the people on my TV make him out to be.

Did you reach out in an attempt to feel the golden cloth of his magnificent royal robe while waving a copy of your little "Red Book?"

I saw him. Got to watch a speech of his and shake his hand even. I was one of those people sitting behind the podium so I only got to see the back of his head, but I was on national TV! For a second or two every time the cameras zoomed out anyway.

Ah, I think I saw you. You were the one in the pink shirt, right? Something about a code?

All kidding aside, one of my best memories was when I went to see John F. Kennedy give a campaign speech in person. All I could think of at the time was ... what a great personality! What a blazing smile! What a man to lead the country!

I was only 21 years old at the time. John F. Kennedy got the first vote I ever made.

Yep, I was once THAT naive.

Doesn't code pink generally protest at Republican venues? :p

I supported Bob Dole in '96, now I'm getting set to campaign for Obama. So I guess there's hope for anyone. ;)

I bought a copy of "Dreams From My Father" signed by Obama. I figure that'll go up in value once he's president (and even more when he's dead). I was going to buy a nice Easton Press McCain book too, signed by him, but since he's going to lose I figured that'd be a poor investment. Silver > McCain. Heh.

Obama will sign books at his rallies. His aides go around and collect them while he's shaking hands, then he signs them all at once. I wish I'd known that when I went to his rally.
