Oldtimers Haze Who's grown it?

Not really. You’re probably going ti have to train the fuck out of it. They go wild indoors, but they can be managed.
Is old timer haze the same as haze or different? Thought it was funny we’ve been talking about haze because of this thread. I went to the dispensary last night and they actually had haze. It is such a crazy strong high I love it, I’m not going to lie though I need a bit of indica first though or I’m just completely out of my mind.

It is Oldtimer’s seeds from the late ‘60s, very early ‘70s, inbred by ACE after being lost to time, and contains the exact same pure landrace sativa parent strains:

-Kerala, India
-Highland Purple Colombian
-Mexican
-Thai

That is so cool wish I could try some of that. Maybe after I get a few grows under my belt I could throw one in and just let it veg while I run autos.

If you’re indoors, you’re not going to want to veg. It will eat you alive. Ever watch Little Shop of Horrors? The play or the movie? It doesn’t end well for the guy vegging the plant, or anyone that patronizes that flower shop.

You are not kidding. These things are going crazy. Definitely not a good indoor strain for the casual grower.

I'm growing regular seeds so I should get male and female plants which is what I want. I'll put the best female in a decent size pot in my 2 x 4 tent with a rigged 3 x 3 trellis to train it to and that I'll be able to move in to my flower tent. Then I'll just leave it along the back wall until it's done. That way I'll be able to pollinate a couple branches for more seeds and help keep these genetics alive.

Oldtimer's Haze
High all!

Oldtimer's Haze is finally available after 2 years of hard work with CBG breeders. We'd love the line will be preserved in its original form in many places as possible.

Here's the official description:

Genetics: 100% sativa. Hybrid of different tropical sativas: Mexican, Purple Highland Colombian, Southern Indian (Kerala) and Thai.

The Haze was developed in California in the 1960s and 70s by crossing some of the best tropical sativas which had been imported during that period. Its exact genotype remains unknown, but it is probably a hybrid of different sativas from Mexico, Southern India, Colombia and Thailand, the two latter being the most dominant in the final hybrid.

This mythical sativa, which has been the starting point for the development of the best hybrids of the past decades, was about to disappear during the 1980s due to the introduction of skunks and indicas in the breeding scene.

Our Haze population comes from the last reproductions made with this variety in California, and it has been preserved intact until today by Oldtimer, a British breeder, and then reproduced by our breeders using a wide diversity of parental plants.

Oldtimer’s Haze still preserves the genetic diversity that many present Haze lines have already lost, and it is possible to find phenotypes ranging from the mythic and nearly extinct “Purple Haze” to the most popular “Green Haze” phenotype, and of course intermediate combinations as well.

By flowering the Hazes at low temperatures, the garden fills with beautiful autumn colours that vary from light green to red, blue and purple.

The flowers gather forming willowy bunches that achieve good volume, when grown under optimum conditions.

Oldtimer’s Haze has an incalculable value for every preservationist, collector and breeder that is looking for a Haze’s population that still conserves all quality and genetic diversity of the original hybrid.

Oldtimer’s Haze is a delight for 70s sativas lovers, a trip back into the past for all those who could not enjoy it at that time.

Structure: Slim and elegant plants, with a tall, branched structure. Medium-length internodes. At the time of growing, the leaf is very thin and shows a pale colour. It reacts very well to pruning.

Bouquet: Dark, fruity aroma, with earthy touches of ashes, incense and antique wood aroma.

Green Haze’s aroma is fruitier (like tropical ripe fruit), while Purple Hazes smell like blackberry and black liquor.

Effect: Strong stimulating and mental effect, without heaviness or physical weakening. A high level of THC and low level of CBD together produce a no-limit effect, which allows you to get higher and higher with each intake. It can produce anxiety and paranoia in high doses and/or to persons prone to these conditions.

Flowering: it takes between 16 and 24 weeks, depending on the plant’s size and the flowering conditions. Outdoors it ends between the end of December and January.

Production/m2: Medium-low.

Growing type

Indoors: we only recommend it to extreme sativas lovers and breeding projects.

Outdoors: Only in tropical or subtropical climates. Within latitudes between 20º and 35º, we would recommend a warm, coastal climate and the use of a greenhouse.

That's if you believe all that. I'm somewhat skeptical. But this strain does exhibit sativa characteristics and no indica characteristics. I think it's the real deal or as close as your going to get buying seeds online. Unless you go crawling through jungles you'll never be sure.

It’s definitely pure Sativa from the aforementioned lineage.

I've grown a number of hazes indoors. 12/12 from seed is the way to go. Reduce light to 10/14 if need be.

Most landrace sativa's are equatorial and get near 12/12 year round.

Yeah, I'm putting these into 12/12 within a week. I'm transplanting them tomorrow and want to give them a little time to acclimate before the switch. They're growing in coco and going crazy. I've topped them to slow them down. The growth is just insane. This strain could easily get to 16 feet or more in an equatorial region.

You would be surprised at how much size just that little bit of veg time will cause them.

Very brave going indoors with Old-timers. I ran some outdoors a few years back. Hope you get a winner.

I've run a bunch of Golden Tiger one of my favorite Sativas. Huge monster plants, potent and very tasty with the right pheno. Had a hybrid of that with OG Kush last year that was so pungently orange flavored that it was borderline sickening. The hybrid really exaggerated the flavor. Took a long cure for the flavors to mellow out. One of my favorite plants from last year. The Meao Thai used in the hybrid is a great example of a tamed and worked Thai line...not one nanner in any of it's hybrids.

Brave or just stupid. It's going to take some significant training to keep it manageable that's for sure. There is no way I could grow it outdoors where I'm at. It would never finish before winter.

I have some Golden Tiger from ACE as well but haven't had a chance to get any going yet. Ace has a bunch of good sativa's. I have most of them including some discontinued strains. The only one I need to get is a ten pack of Malawi regulars and I'll be good.

You haven't seen nothing yet. Wait until you see it spend a month or two stretching.
Sounds like waiting is a big part of growing Oldtimers Haze.

It takes a lot of patience to grow pure sativas. I've grown some that take over 20 weeks of flower.

Most have been worth it. Those long flowering plants develop a very complex high that I love.

I have only ever grown haze and skunk.
I love haze, many don’t like it so much.

The Haze Bush type with strong angled branches is resinous and makes good bubble hash.
Gets a purple appearance, slow burning, strong hash flavour.

The second less loved variation, grows into a lemon scented pine shape.
Sort of Tastes a bit like the old Menthol Cigarette.

My seed is very old, not sure where it came from, I believe it was the real deal at the time.
