They are actually great lights - he constantly reviews lights and breeds , (where i get my seed connections ) Lol…..he does perpetuals using those lights constantly for over 3 years straight non stop. Met him thru a home service call and traded beans a few times.

I read from a few manufacturers of lights that used the lenses and stopped as it reduced ....... Less , can't remember now but what's the score with that, any truth ?

The only thing missing from led is IR light , which most think is unuseable to the plant. If you really want identical to your hps then go with leds and a 150w hps just for the IR light. Thats literally the only thing different from led an hps with a small exception for kelvin temp. (Hps bulbs are 2100 to 2700k give or take....)
You CANNOT go wrong with 3k kelvin and a small hps for IR. (the IR may be a waste of money , im not 100% sure yet.)
Most led light nowadays have ir and uv

There are some pretty cool cheap 65 watt fixtures being sold these days with a rating of 1.7 efficacy according to MIGRO...Meanwhile HPS has a rating of 1.3 !. Check them out if anyone wants to get their feet wet with LED.

yep and you can still wash your clothes in a river, and you can still cook your dinner on an open fire ect, ect...:bigjoint:
I'm an old fart stuck in my ways and get 7-8 oz per plant so dont really see he need to upgrade as it personal use only , how much more per plant would I get with top-of-the-range-LED.

A plant can only produce so much bud.

haha its all mean't in good spirit mate, yer some people still enjoy the walk to the well for the daily water...joke ;-)

but it is 2021... and the op was wanting to know how far led tech has advanced in the 10 years he hasnt been following with the idea of swapping out his sodium setup, no one should be recomending budmaster or anything that looks like one.

This is true, I have seen a universe of a change in my two decades of growing, HID, CFL, Bad early blurple LED but it's now is a whole different ball game with quantum strips that is a struggle to keep up with (at least for me it is lol)

R

The thread was started by me researching led so............ Already explained ! If them lights are shit I'd like to know why ? Are they blurple ? Just old diodes or something else ?
Someone says on a thread that the fanless are cooler but 600w is 600w of heat regardless the source.
