Well I have Mazari sherif seeds, and Brazil Amazonia land races however acapulco gold isn’t in my collection, but I’ll look for it. I have orange bud from Dutch passion, love the orange hairs and citrus smell. I originally bought all landrace strains with plans on breeding then realized I don’t have the time and space for finding good males.. so I mostly use feminized pollen nowadays and create S”1s of all my favorites.
The orange bud is a skunk selection whereas cali o is its own thing used to be very common commercially years back here did the old dp orange bud

good to hear, I’m gonna have to look at your selection. Any recommendations? Do you have any purple strains that produce well indoors? And can you guaranty a purple plant? If so I wasted thousands of dollars on purple strains and skunks. Purple strains never got purple even granddaddy purple, purple #1 from Dutch passion was the only purple plant I ever got Beautifull color and smell of perfume but a waste of time as I’d be lucky to get a 1/2 oz off a plant. And so called skunk,,,,,sweet or musky but never dead skunk smell.
Look for the purple pheno in stardog it actually smokes good for a purple tastes good too and actually gets you stoned and it is purple also anything with cbgs/aces pck in it will usually purp up regardless of temps as well

Any stardog breeder you can recommend conor please that has more purple type phenos. Im looking for the squater wider leaf type of stardog rather than the stretchy taller thiner leaf type. One that looks more like the Afghan chem type but with the purples. The stardog cuts going round in the uk that finish green or green brown are too stony for me. You cant get nothing done at all with those but sleep.
By the way you was looking for the old big bud type. Have you tried lemon venom by anychance. I had a wicked pure indica big bud pheno from one of those. I had it for about 6 years till I lost it about 2 years back and my back up guy turned up also asking if I still had it as he had somehow managed to lose it too.

Actually surprisingly the freebie fem ones
i got from discountcannabisseeds turned out good had a few purp up basically there was no purple in any of the stardog seeds till the 4th batch of seeds when jj started using a purple male cuts like the illuminati were found before that panik also has his super stardog thats stardog crossed to a old sensi super skunk male theres more of a skunky pissy edge to that one on top of the usual stardog funk and lemon venom i dont think so unless its slipped my mind i dont think i tried that whos that from mate?

I’ve given up the search for purple. It seems purple and good yield and quality don’t come together it’s one or the other in my experience.
There rare theres some ok purples however due to purple being crap for photosynthesis vs green thats why the green phenos always tend to be more potent and yield better there better built for it extra anthocyanins only really helps with stress and cold

Good to know. Any recommendations? I see a few people on here that get some beautiful pinks and purps, I don’t know how well they do on production but the crystallization is nice. I’ve ordered just about $1000.00 in different purple strains and only got one purple plant, almost black as it dried purple#1 from Dutch passion but not Worth the time put in when u get a 1/2 oz per plant. i really had high hopes w some like granddaddy purple, da purp, purple Urkle , and many others not even purple hues, and I turned down the temps in the room during last weeks of flower. Don’t get me wrong nice fall colors but no purple buds. I’m starting to believe maybe it’s because I grow In rockwool, flood and drain maybe it’s only in organic s they get color? I can control temps of air and root temps, even use organic nutrients or mostly organic, ph perfect, ppm right on. My other strains thrive, as a matter of fact I made S1’s off a dark star and GDP they were decent producers of knock out weed just not. Purple other than that they had to be kept just for taste and party , sometimes sleep aid the dark star was Couch lock!

Stardog has some nice phenos that purple up that arent weak purple urkle crosses are nice too ime and no its temp related most purple things with it in the name arent genetically purple unless its cold why idk but people insist on naming em so its the same with purple hindu kush some dont purple much at normal temps some cuts will its kind of annoying imo dont name it purple unless it does it warm temps or cold cos its genetically purple but you know people right

Ive had stardogs that purple bad. Its mainly on the leaves though some get purple on the buds. One of the most famous stardog purple cuttings in usa are the one greendot labs holds called the kate upton cut. I lost a fantastic purple stardog cut myself due to being too unwell to care for it about 2 years ago. Purple widow from de sajmaan used to get purple buds really dark. It was actually quite good to use as a breeding plant. Very small yield but exotic looking, I wish I could still find it.

A trick some people use to get plants to go purple is to feed them ice water days before harvest. Led lighting tends to help with more vibrant colours too.

Had purple widow, feminized 5 seeds got 3 plants, grew well good taste never got purple, crossed it with a GDP ( it was green (feminized pollen) but I was hoping maybe the purple is somewhere in the genetic and maybe get a purple offspring. Had 10 Viking regulars none turned purple 1 I renamed popcorn as the buds were small like round little popcorn covered in crystals. The others decent but they couldn’t have been great as I didn’t makeS1s. I crossed that GDP w dark star, purple bud, purple widow, melon gum, panamal red, 2 other gdp’s and a few others I probably have about 200 seeds of crosses with that gdp, plus’s S1’s of most. I’m guessing if i had the time and space and popped all those seeds maybe I’d find a lucky purple in there somewhere but I don’t have the time or space. I’d prefer a buy this strain and we guaranty purple buds and good yield but that won’t happen.

Question! I have 6 purple#1 seeds left from Dutch passion, if I grow it out and take the purple plants female pollen off it and pollinate my best producer is there a chance the seeds produced could take traits from each and get a good producing purple or is the green like a more dominant trait?

Pollinate purple females with purple males and chase that trait in the progeny you want the purple so you need it both sides of the parents really or its more hunting yes what your saying is possible but its less likely dont get me wrong because of random assortment with genetics/seeds alot is possible really its just about stacking the odds/numbers in your favour to save you time is the aim really unless you just get lucky first time of course
