put a moisture absorber box from the dollar store in the space if it's an emergency, let that sucker dry out but be ready to water again once it has

yeah, you can put paper towels stacked up underneath it to...or stick the whole pot on top of some dry soil...the dry soil will pull the moisture out...as will the paper towels, or whatever else absorbent you might want to use...
 
i overwatered once, and it was bad. i tried everything, but if it very wilted down, you might have to just harvest it. i find that a $10 moister meter works great to keep that from happening. only water when it says dry.

pick up the pot right after watering to guage how heavy it feels. when the soil looks dry and the pot feels very light, its time to water again. they plants will start to wilt once they are thirsty
