Man.. I'm so baby fresh to this, it isn't funny. I hung with smokers since I was 11, but out of fear of my mom being the stupid cunt she is--i.e. Taking me to get piss tested at 12 because of my friends--I didn't smoke until I was 22 and freshly out of the military, save pulling overwatch in a cave high up on a mountain, lying prone in my friend/comrade's hash smoke. He had got some authentic Afghan hash from the ANA or the locals and was hot knifing it while I pulled overwatch.

The oldest thing I remember is Jamaican Red Hair.

The Company was said to have 2-300 members and was huge, and international. Many believe it is still in operation today.
I believe it is, in a manner of speaking. Let's just say they didn't bust everyone, and the people who didn't get caught or got off didn't exactly all get jobs bagging groceries or flipping burgers. If you read "Bluegrass Conspiracy" and "Cornbread Mafia," and spend some time in the part of Kentucky where much of those two inter-related stories played out, it doesn't take long to realize that they're not past history. Some of the same players who were involved with Thornton and his colleagues, Boone and his running partners, and the Company are still alive, still somewhat mysterious, and still have an unusual amount of disposable income for someone with no real job.

Nice thread! Try-commes are just the neatest things to look at. On the surface they look really delicate, but when you think about what they go through to make hash or the crakle stuff, with either the alcohol, or gas method, man they can put up with a lot. But little mushrooms of em em goodness, they have to be from some where else, lol:bigjoint:

In every way possible LOL but mostly Potassium Sulfate and actually the kitty liter too 8)
As Calcined Clay slow releases sulfur much like Dolomite does Cal/Mag
I use Wal-Mart Special Kitty unscented natural clay liter 25 lbs under $4
Oh wow, I was just saying to my bf the other day that we need to get some perlite in and I wondered whether we could use kitty litter cos it looks like the same stuff. He looked at me like I was a complete idiot and said to just get proper perlite lol. Could I use kitty litter in my coco instead? Or am I completely misunderstanding what you use it for? Sorry if I'm being dense, this thread's huge and I'm reading it from the back, I haven't managed to find what you were originally saying yet.

Yeah, sounds great! For everyone but the grower.
If you peeled back enough layers, it was the grower we were getting it from. He had a banana plantation in Columbia, and a few boats. Won't say much more than that, but he seemed quite content with the arrangement. We got it in 50-pound bales that came in big paper sacks like cement or sand comes in. 4 of those in the trunk of the car, and off we'd go with dreams of riches filling our heads. Have no idea anymore where all the money went...

Not sure how it would work with coco, I use it in peat and it has to be the right kind of kitty liter

You were over paying lol. We were getting them for a hundred and Canadian dollar was worth more then. By the time it got here it was 250 though :(. That shit got me into BHO, no one here had seen the shit but I had smoked some honey oil at 15 and from then on very intrigued with concentrates ;). Would take a couple of pounds and make oil for myself :), it was the best of times and the worst of times lol. Could never figure out what they put on the plastic wrap though, cross between fish oil and ammonia lol.
Nah, that was a decent price back in that period. Individual beaners were going for around 420 or 450 apiece, and this was premium shit (for the time, anyway - nobody paid much attention to curing back then; just bail it up and load it on the boat). The people we were moving pounds to were marking 'em up to 450 and couldn't re-up from us fast enough. We had a good setup, and it worked out really well for as long as we kept it going. Many times I wish I had another 50-pound bale of that stuff lying around somewhere. That'd be a nice piece of change in today's market - 50 pounds of old-school Colombian gold pure sativa.

A couple observations about kitty litter (calcined clay):
1) Shitloads of dust! Rinse thoroughly.
2) Clay is heavy. If you feel the weight of your plants to determine whether or not they need water, you'll need to adjust for clay.
