Nye vs Ken right now, don't miss it.

You mean Ken Ham getting raped repeatedly and failing to answer any questions in a meaningful way?

Totally watching it.

Ken Hamm is stunningly retarded, I mean, shockingly, surprisingly stupid

He believes it's impossible to know anything for a fact about the Earth/Universe because nobody was there to see it, all we can do is speculate on it and make assumptions. But creationism is right because God was there, and he saw everything and made everything happen..

Seriously, embarrassingly stupid. Our society is waaaaay too cushy for fucks like him to make it to his age. I'm serious.

Good video, Zaehet. Some highlights:

Ken - "Matter will never produce life." How could he possibly know that, and what happens when that proves to be the case?

"Do you take the bibal literally?" Ken - I take it naturally. (WTF?) Some of it is meant to be literal, some of it is meant to be poetry. How can we tell which from which? Just ask him...

"There's no contrictions in he bible" Really? "It's not survival of the fittest, it's survival of those who survive." Aren't those the fittest?

Notice when asked what would change their points of view, Nye named many things while Hamm stated there was nothing. Very telling...

I like that Nye brought up the fact that none of Hamm's hypothesis can predict anything, that life is a bottom up system as opposed to top down. It wasn't even a debate, just a child being spanked by a parent. Nye's jokes are horrible, though...

Excellent summary, I agree with everything you said

Nye basically showed the entire audience how ridiculous creationism is. I feel like some of the audience members themselves might have been swayed by the bullshit Hamm was spewing and the logic Nye discussed.

This debate finally proved to me that no matter what happens, faith always trumps evidence, and to some people that's enough.

We will never reach those people.

I believe in creation and evolution.

I believe God created everything in the beginning and evolution was His natural law to let the strongest survive- survival of the fittest.

Whos to say the two are diametrically opposed or mutually exclusive? Both creation and evolution seem plausible to Me.

Creationists, for one.
Anyone can say anything. I say that evolution complements creation.

The Atheists cant debunk the CREATION of the Big Bang, and Theists cant debunk the EVOLUTION of (certain) animals.

Its because, I believe, they both are true. God could be the Master of evolution and He could have designed it that way from the beginning.

not really if you go by what the bible says, which granted, isn't very much for me, but from what i understand, it says god created man and the animals and the plants as well..
i don't really see how creationism and evolution can go hand in hand if creationists believe that man was simply created and not evolved from a lower life form over however many millions of years, no?

This is true, but Im not your ordinary biased or closed minded person. I see truth on both sides of the creation/evolution argument. Currently, Im leaning towards the evidence for evolution, but I also believe a Creator created everything. Some Christians believe in the Bible verbatim, and some Atheists believe exclusively what science says. Im Agnostic, I believe more in science then religion but I dont dismiss the theory of God.

It doesn't have anything to do with being biased or closed minded

It has to do with the fact that there are 2 theories, in one of them human origins is one way and in the other it's a completely different way

Would you call somebody biased or closed minded for not believing red is blue?

George doesn't fully understand creationism or evolution, but he likes to comment on them anyway. George, why don't you do adequate research into these subjects before forming beliefs or opinions about them?

I didnt call anyone biased or closed minded. I said "Im not your ordinary biased or closed minded person".

But now that you bring it up, yeah, some people are biased and closed minded. The creationists are biased and closed minded because there is so much evidence to support evolution and science that its not even funny. The evolutionists are biased and closed minded because how can anyone deny that everything was created by a Higher Power? Science cant create something from nothing, never mind a whole universe of stuff.

Its My personal belief that science is correct and also I believe in the theory of (a Creator) God too. So I guess you could say that Im on the fence of the argument, but thats where I feel safe.

It could be the evolution of creationism, a little adaptation to let both parties be right... because Im sure both parties arent all wrong.

Thats correct, am I claiming to be an expert in any subjects?

Why cant I form an opinion with a limited understanding? Everyone does that all the time because who has the time to research everything on everything?

I dont have the patience to do research much, Im just your casual blogger.

Whats wrong with My opinion about creation/evolution? I cant believe in evolution and still keep open the possibility that God created everything? If there is a God, God certainly knows about evolution... its just the creationists that dont believe in evolution.

If you're commenting on, or forming a belief about, which celebrity is fucking whom or what ice cream flavor is best, then in depth research is not necessary because it doesn't fucking matter. When it comes to science and evolution, or even creationism/ID, adequate research to understand these concepts is necessary to form an intelligent comprehension of what is being discussed. Take this forum for example, when I first started researching how to grow MJ, I lurked for hundreds of hours learning from the heavies to understand all the theories on how best to grow, then grew for over a year before I had the audacity to offer any opinions or guidance of my own. I did this because growing is a complex subject, and I wouldn't dare form opinions or comment without fully understanding it's principles lest I come across as an uneducated fool, or worse yet, hurt someone's grow. George, you've been here for years yet you haven't taken the few hours it would take to understand these very important theories like evolution by natural selection, or creationism/ID (at least to combat it). How can you participate in a discussion about things you don't even understand? Why would anyone take your views into account when you are so ignorant regarding the subject matter being discussed? You are amazingly lazy, and don't deserve to participate in a discussion with people who have earned the knowledge to intelligently discuss these subjects imo. Go back to the children's table until you exert the effort to understand what is being discussed...

I dont have the patience to do research much, Im just your casual blogger.
Then don't comment on complex and important subjects, try T&T instead, it seems more your speed...
Whats wrong with My opinion about creation/evolution?
You don't understand the principles of either, so who cares about your ignorant opinion?

I cant believe in evolution and still keep open the possibility that God created everything? If there is a God, God certainly knows about evolution... its just the creationists that dont believe in evolution

Because there is no empirical evidence for this idea, and their model has total explanatory power without the need of a creator...

Science cant create something from nothing, never mind a whole universe of stuff.
That is not what any scientific theory states. This is why it's important to learn what the fuck it is you're talking about...

Again, why would anyone care what you think when you don't understand what's being discussed?
