NV Patients will no longer be able to grow...

What happens when your local dispensary refuses your pot even though it meets all of their criteria, because they have a surplus, or some other shitty excuse..?
Will the state then get involved and help you move it by burning it? Do you think they won't keep track of the growers who sell to dispensaries.. Most likely the dispensary will offer to take it off your hands for a pittance.. I'm sure they won't give a grow license and let you sell wherever you want.. Most likely your vendor will be identified for you. That way they'll be better able to keep track of what you sell, and grow.. There's always a hook buried in everything, somewhere, that's gonna help keep you under their thumb.... To think otherwise is just sticking your head in the sand, refusing to believe you will get screwed in some way..
Think twice before you apply for that license.. It's just like an ankle bracelet in that it keeps the states foot on the neck of the growers.. A legalization petition should be started now, with the realization the state will do everything it can to block it.. A full out effort of a legalization petition might change the States attitude about who can grow... Most likely not..

Quit making hypothetical's up as you go. You could very well look up the answer to your questions if you wanted to do more than ramble on like a paranoid hippie, its not like NV is 1st state to have pot shops. Think about it dude, we all gave every scrap of information on ourselves, including finger prints (in NV), when we signed up to grow legally. I can't think of anything more anyone contemplating a cultivation licence should worry about. As is now, if you're any good you've got to give excess away to be legal, or cook with it a lot. What goods it do continually ranting big brothers going to get you? has that really ever done anyone any good? Ya they're going to get me, they're going to get my tax money I hope. Seriously, who here would be upset if their bud was on top shelves in shops in your valley, and the taxes went to help our shit school system. It's legal folks, quit acting like gangsters. Don't know about you but I want to own a home someday, that's not happening less uncle Sam gets his. I'd worry about being any good at growing weed, and doing it illegally. Buy that house, car, boat, ATV without proof of income and you've got a hell of a lot more to worry about than anyone following the letter of the law. Big brother will seize any asset it wants if you can't show sufficient income. That wont be anyone doing it legally. Pay your taxes.

Whats that saying about throwing your money down a hole? I don't mean to lump all the homeless into this group, I was myself once, but when you put them next to taxes that go for the schools, and kids of tomorrow, well, it kinda feels like throwing it down at best, the wrong hole. Of all people I could identify, but it helps no one long term to fish for them today. Too many possessions for sure though. I lost everything in a fire once, best thing ever happened to me.

I believe it also says that "if your strain is not available... you will be able to continue to grow it yourself!

Also, those people who are already in patient program will be grandfathered in with special rights. And those people after April 14th, 2014 will need to meet additional requirements to join the state MMJ program. More to come from my carson city people.

Hello darling;

Okay, the law for spring 2014 (with much juggling from NV) is 12-plants. Nevada does not care what stage the plant is in, they quote it as "...flowers, leafs, stems, everything but the roots..." count as 1-plant.

Now, since I grow outside (and yes, awesomely!) I don't know if that means at once, or per a year? They seem to constantly change the (what little they have) law about this frequently. One minute it is 7-plants of varying stages, the next I'm grandfathered in at 99-plants (that scared me!), now I seem to be settled in at 12-plants...hey, could change next year again :bigjoint: who knows...

Clones do save a few weeks, I do clone, but personally, if i didn't have genetics I knew I never wanted to see die, I'd grow from seed, in the hopes of finding just that. Not sure many will meet anyone after their first post either style..or that you should want anyone to, ha,.. but keep the interaction coming man, we need it bad here in NV IMO.

So anyone growing outside?..

I know a lot think its too hot, and yes it gets there sometimes, but if you really look at the temps, there is a lot of time we could all be turning off the grow light. Saving money and growing better pot under the best bulb out there sounds like a good plan to me. Privacy is the hold up for most I'm sure. For the longest time I had the mindset growing outdoors was for when I move to some other state. But I kept looking on craigslist and zillow for places to rent, for 2 months...... and I think I finally found a perfect location, its on a 2 acre lot! I'll be renting, but I'm legal so I don't care to tell anyone what I will legally be doing. I heard subcool420 say it best once, we're not criminals anymore, so stop acting like one.
Hello Darling;

I know this thread is hella' old, but, no one else gave the answer to your Q...So anyone growing outside...?

Well yes,...yes I am :P I am a newbie, as been said, legal 2-3 yrs, and it has taken me that long to bring to term (correctly) the plants. I have never grown inside. I was born a 'Gardener'...zucchini, honeydew, tomatoes, cantaloupe, pretty much if you can use it in the kitchen I can grow it...until the, 'Cannabis'. Germination; easy. Transplant into 2" pots: easy. getting them to live past 4-6 leaf's: VERY HARD :wall: But this year, I just treated them like tomato plants in ground as well as in planters/buckets (I was doing some science projects :rolleyes:) placed in front and back of the house (my home sits sideways to the street). Even my struggling 5-gallon container ones came out beautifully....But, as you pointed out, even living in Northern Rural NV, people will have bad intentions and sneak off into the dark with your 'very fine' babies o_O...ouch! I have increased security since :fire:

My problem was finding information on 'Growing' outside. Again, not easy. 95% of Growers are "Inie's" the last 5% of "Outie's" are hard to come by...and harder yet to part with their-way of doing it. No one wants anyone to know where they are growing the medicine at...and yet wants everyone to see how pretty she is, yada, yada...sorry, took a hit :oops: I know I will NEVER again do the 5-gal way...the roots...pure torture to watch.

But, darling, even though WE are NOT criminals, in order to come out of the closet into the light WE must get RID of the CRIMINALS who take from the sick :clap:

Okay where was I...My baby, Miss Jewel (a 10 mo.old beautiful mutt) has decided it is time to go play :p I love Cannabis, in that I am able to play with my dogs!

Growing out side was easy. I did 2-in ground and a range of 5-gal to 15-planters. I don't know what the take would have been before the badi people topped them, but so far, I'm set. I did MANY by seed (not all made to outside) and was given two different clones, one pair each.

My friend and I decided the "Pot Gods" have deemed it so. The thief's took what they needed and left me enough until the end of next season...all in all, a good harvest (:...yes, all 12 I did...

I have come to conclude some strains do better outside, and yet others do better inside. I look forward to next year :leaf:

Get a little home home surveillance system there very cheap for do it yourself.
You can also have a company do it for you and pay a monthly fee for a whole home system.
If someone steals your medication it is stealing and the police will have to treat it as such I would think. I am not a lawyer though so you may want to consult one.
If nothing else at least you would find out who is stealing your stuff most likely neighborhood kids but theft if theft cant see why they couldn't be prosecuted.

the state did not start issuing MMJ cards til January of 2014. it was legalized in 2000 so mmj users had to stay underground for those 14 years.sound like the state is trying to keep them there. if you can't afford to buy it and have to grow your own then there is no sense in registering and getting a card.

I have had my card for 3-yrs here in NV...so, I'd say that is an incorrect statement. Yes there is. IF you have a medical need they will issue you the card...LEGALLY in this state you are now protected. You can grow indoors (which most people do) or outside, your choice. FEDERALLY NO ONE is legal...and a whole other subject and thread.

I wouldn't buy it any ways, you never know what some person(s) are putting in it. I did, however, have another medical patient grow for me until I learned how to do it. Yes it did cost, but I knew what went into the plants. I understood it cost the person, dirt, lights, elec. etc.

BUT...I found on here an address to help other newbies of a co.op in Reno that helps a person from start to finish, even lets you know if you qualify. Here's the phone # 775-687-7594

I believe, like others, by 2025 it's ALL going to be legal :weed:

"if you can't afford to buy it and have to grow your own then there is no sense in registering and getting a card" Untrue, You are more protected then you were before...think about...

This isnt to suprising concidering that the mmj comm. Is well lame in nevada
That is an understatement...

What community? Hardly anyone 'talks' to one another out here in Dayton/CC/VC etc, about it. Everyone is too afraid of going to prison. WE ARE NOT criminals!!! IF the state made us legal WE have the right to be HEARD! I'm tired of this catch 22 crap :cuss: Maybe if we all go to the fed building and throw up on them they will leave us alone! LOL :spew:...okay I feel like throwing up, mornings are hard. Lot of green tea and cold water...crackers, crackers are good!

First off we need to stop being afraid (and don't say your not) we won't go to prison for this, but if we continue to hide and 'act' like backroom criminals, as they say the jig is up! What do we tell children, "If you stop acting like a child I'll stop treating you like one". I say it's the same thing, if we stop acting like it, maybe we'll stop being treated like it :clap:

When I first started to grow I did so outside, and EVERYONE freaked out! :roll: Everyone will see it, the cops will come and take it away, people will come and steal it, you rent you'll go to prison...'they' had a lot to say. I thought about it and decided, very simply, I am not a criminal, why should I hide what I'm doing. I had no problems last year (my 1st good yr of outside growing). I only had 3-plants survive and 1 was a male, but all in all I did good and felt good about it...and my 2 females lasted me 13 months :-D

I get pretty chatty around 10 in the morning, my brain has finally woken up :rolleyes: I would also like to state, I don't 'medicate' in the mornings, I 'Tuff' it out until at least noon, no matter how much my body doesn't like that Decision ;) and I seem to carry a soap box around with me.

Instead of 'talking' about how we have no community, lets talk about BUILDING ONE :leaf:

Last time I checked there were 6500 card holder and the state population is 3 million or so and most of the card holders are in vegas so were just spread out so thin up north hard to meet others when most keep it to themselves for fear of cops, stealing etc.

I do hope once the dispensaries get going which is supposed to be starting 2015 things will open up.
I know the way neveda wrote the law so other states cards are recognized here they want people coming here especially Vegas and buying spending money the gambling is going down and this is a sneaky way to boost things up I think.
If your a MMJ user and want to go on vacation where better now then Vegas you can go have fun get your meds and don't have to worry about bringing them.
It will be good for Nevada and good for us I think I know I read that if the dispensaries in your area doesn't carry your strain you can grow it so I see that as a good loophole for those needing to grow just grow a strain they don't have there are so many names to them all how can they prove your strain is the same just say its blueberry muffin yumyum its what all the dispensaries do just name it whatever.

I think to there will be some tweaks to the system as it matures I hope its a step forward for people like me who just cant grow which is most people we will have access to meds.
For those that can grow as long as you stick to 12 plants and are quite about it I don't see them messing with it.

But who knows we will all just have to wait and see the more it comes out of the dark the better.

I live in Dayton. I've heard there are "others" but it's a rumor. I'm on SS so I should be able to grow even though I saw there are 2 licences for Carson dispensaries. Glad to see you're not a chicken (like me) to grow outside. I tried it last spring but the damn plants started peeking over the fence so I put them inside which was a treat with 6' plants haha. They got mites, aphids, and other unknown pests out there and I wasn't use to dealing with that but they came out okay. I've been growing since 2006 and still learning. Always something new to deal with.

I think once they get the dispensaries going we can all loosen up a bit. I was busted in 67' so my paranoid outlook still sticks around.

Hello Mr. Moldy;

Helllllo Dayton :mrgreen: Never been busted for cannabis. I was too straight laced...Papa said, "If marijuana was legal I would smoke it, but it's not, so I drink, it's legal." I was 17 and thought I was going to get one hell of a beating for trying it. Bought joints from someone I didn't know in high school, it was laced with PCP. Bad reaction and went to hospital. I thought about it, looked at him and said, "Okay" and he passed me a beer. :lol:

I got bugs all over them this year, but it didn't seem to be hurting them at all. I had leaf-hoppers this year really bad in my veg/fruit garden, heck still have them LOL and they were all over the plants, and again, didn't hurt them. I have a pretty good balance of insects in my gardens. Of course, my soil is horrible and I have to amend it ever year o_O Winds take the good dirt to often!

Ughhh! I'm tried of the flys!!! Kill them alll!!! sorry, a little Zena there ;)

The short version...I'm from No. CA and grew up growing my food. When I had my family I grew our food, chickens and Geese. When I moved out here (the final time) 15 years ago, I bought a house, then in 2003 I started to garden out here...VERY hard! I spent almost $15,000 and 3-yrs figuring it out. But, when I did, WOW, I could grow almost anything out here :D Of course, it took me almost 3-yrs to figure out how to grow cannabis LOL:lol:

I have a problem with aphids when I try to grow corn out here, but that's it so far.

My 'in ground' plants got over 7' tall...I'm still grinning :-P True, always something new to deal with. Some times I'm surprise they survive outside, especially with our winds out here LOL I could never have moved 6' plants into my home, okay, I have several steps, but, wasn't that seriously heavy?

I gave it some serious thought when I started to grow. I didn't have the funds (not after giving serious monies to NV for registering 3-yrs ago) to get a set-up going inside. I decided to NOT hide it and NOT act like a criminal, shocked a lot of people that I did that, grow outside. Nahhh, not chicken darling, smart. People can be bad some times, do stupid things. I would hate for someone to take your babies like they took some of mine this year...probably kids, who knows, but still, it would not have been nice for you to come outside and see your babies ripped apart.

Unfortunately, I want to see the good in everyone, and not everyone is good.

Do you really think CC will be opening up a dispensary? I don't think so. Now, Reno, Sparks, I can see that, even Fernley. The people in CC have made it pretty clear they don't want one in 'their' city licence or not. Personally, I don't what a dispensary here in Dayton. This way I can keep growing :-D

It's nice to know it is no longer a myth, there are others like us here in Dayton. I too am on SSD It's a life changing deal going from work-oholic to no work. Thank God for gardens, firewood and land, keeps me busy busy busy :leaf:

Nikki,

Thanks for the reply! The plants I had outside were in 15 gal tubs but moved fairly easy with a two wheel cart. Once I got them under the light I noticed light spots which turned out to be bugs and kinda freaked me out since the only bug I get indoors is a nat or two. I used neem oil on them and that killed 90% of them. I'll stick to indoors for now but will try out the free light someday again.

I'm from the Midwest south of Austin, MN. Came out here 22 years ago to do tech work for a plastics company. Just hung up my pyrometer this July. As "kids" we smoked a lot of ditch weed but we figured out the best time of year to pick it. Most of it was junk though and that's what I sold to a narc. Zero THC content = five years probation. Ugh! Later, friends coming back from Nam brought seeds so that became the new strain back in the late 60's along with the usual suspects. I never got into growing though due to my work so I had to learn in 06' when I got my card. Started with two monsters in my bathtub but they lived and it wasn't bad weed and been doing 2-3 grows a year since then. Started with a 400 W HPS cheapy from HTGS now doing AC/DE 1040W in about 5x5x7. In there is a Skunkberry, Cannatonic, SuperLemonHaze X OG 18 and Coletrain. I get bored with growing one or two and since my wife doesn't use much I can get by doing it that way.

So I believe that if you live within 20 miles of a dispensary you can't grow at home except for what Lostkeys mentioned in his post. I heard on channel 2 news that Carson got the go ahead for 2 stores. I'll be surprised if Carson can support 2 dispensaries and I'm pretty sure there isn't enough peeps out here to support one in the "Comstock".

Peaceness!

Morning Darling;

Your welcomed...Hand cart does make it much easier. I don't use anything on mine...I let them go 'Natural' and they were sooo pretty :P WOW, from COLD country ;) a bit different out here LOL Like her, I don't really use much either. Two good outside plants will last me all year :o of course, I did the whole 12 this year. I want to learn to cook with it. :p You have a nice set up. It sounds the same size as my friends'. Yes, I can see that. I don't so much as get 'bored' with it, I just like different choices, so I grow 3-6 different varieties.

I've been reading this years laws and amendments...wow does my head hurt (more than usual). You think they could have complicated it anymore than they did :roll: My bo told me last night that Reno/sparks will be having the three dispensaries and ONLY the three. I know too many business owners in CC and they do not want the dispensary's in 'their town'. There was, something like, 15 applicates for opening up a dispensary. Only three won the lottery. If I understand what I have read so far, we out here in Dayton are just fine, and able to grow.

What I'm understanding of the law so far is, they adopted the AZ laws to have better control + they do not want the state doing a full 'legalization' of it like CA, OR and CO.

But...LV wants to make it more user friendly for vacationers and allow out-of-staters with a LEGAL card from another legal state, they will be allowed to purchase from their LV dispensaries...man that's a mouth full :lol: I consider this an oxymoron, have your cake and eat it too :eyesmoke: crap.

Because I can have a hard time understanding what is either, being asked of me or being said to me, my Bo breaks it down for me to get the full understanding, concept, draw the picture, for me. I wonder if he ever misses the super smart me :mrgreen:?

Anyway, This state still has a long way to go. Nevada has lost much tourism over these last several years and I think LV will do what ever it takes to reap in that extra money. If Reno/Sparks sees that that works for LV they 'may' implement that same law/ordinance to make extra money for their county's up here.

Just have to wait and see. Have a wonderful day darling. I got to get it going :leaf:

Hi Nikki,

Yes, the law is complicated. I'm waiting for full legalization to happen so I don't need super special permission from a doctor or anybody. lol I just don't want them to take my right to grow away since I've invested some bucks into it recently.

Good to hear you have a good supply. Didn't that male plant, that you mentioned in an earlier post, pollinate your girls? Just wondering how that worked out.

I've tried some cooking with weed and it tastes like shit. I have trouble getting off on edibles so I don't experiment with it much. I've tried making a salve and that kinda works but the pain I was trying to cover up wasn't the right pain. Crap! I guess it works good for aches in the joints or something. I was using it on some blood clots I got during a damn medical procedure with no affects at all.

It's nice that it's getting cold so I can control the grow room temps better. Yay!

Take care / stay warm!
