ATTN: PROFESSIONALS ONLY PLEASE

Basically I have a 3 part nutrient

*General Hydroponics (G.H.)* - FloraGro, FloraBloom, and FloraMicro

I keep hearing things about Cal-Mag, Silica, and Clearex

Am I good with just the GH products? Do I need the others?

I want to have everything together before the sprouts.

Thanks!

Cal-mag is required If running RO water otherwise deficiency shows up as "rust" spots on the leaves.

If using well or city tap just depends how much is present.

Never needed / used Silica.

Never needed / used Clearex.

You don't need the grow product.

For my medium less aero (spray and drain) I ran 7/14 micro/bloom for both veg and flower.

Check out the link in my sig. for some of the results.

I like Lucas formula. similaer to Alarics except it's 8ml mico/ 16mL bloom. no grow. no cal mg should be needed. have to use RO or distilled water. it pH's itself to around 5.8 every time.

yep, epsom salts is usually around a gram per gallon. not sure on the cal nitrate amount?
thanks..i remember ratio for granular cal mag [separately] 1: 2 or 2:1

so i guess epsom and calcium nitrate is that too

now if i can only remember which way

again thanks both of you guys for the posts

I'm using RO water PPM 002 and using Lucas. Just Micro and Bloom. Just flipped to flower and It's been working great for me.

I have the same results and I always smile when I don't need to adjust :)

So if I just supplement calmag with the GH stuff im good ?

Im using RO water
Since you have the 3-part, you would not need to buy any calmag.
For more Ca, add more of the micro. For more Mg, add some epsom salt;-)
I keep going back and forth with the silicate products. When it first came out, I experimented with it, then stopped using it for quite a while. I just started farting around with it again about a year ago, and i'll prob stop using it once again. Totally not necessary, that much is a fact.

Hey, sorry for jacking the thread, but since the answer has been given I was wondering if anyone could help me as well (I don't want to make a new thread for this noob question).

I'm starting my first DWC and I also have the 3-part flora series. I am very confused as to the amounts of nutrients I should add to the reservoir after a week of plain pH-ed water.

I'm using the schedule provided by GH: http://generalhydroponics.com/site/gh/docs/feeding_sched/GH-FloraSeries-REC-Charts.pdf

I understand that during the second week you should add 1/4 of the nutrients, so I have 18l/4.7 US gallons, so 2.5ml/4 = 0.6ml x 4,7gal = 2.8ml of micro/grow/bloom nutrients? Did I miss something or is this the correct amount?

Thank you for your help.

OR would this schedule be better? : http://www.growweedeasy.com/sites/growweedeasy.com/files/grow-weed-General-Hydroponics-nutrient-schedule.pdf

if I were to follow the second one I would add 5,8ml during the first week.. and that's a substantial difference.

Use growweedeasy's schedule and you'll be safe, then just refine from there and as you grow you'll learn more on how to know when the plant wants more or less but atleast following growweedeasy's schedule you won't fuck anything up, it's a good baseline to start

BUY AN EC/PPM METER! Mixing by fractions is a crapshoot. Buy a good EC meter and know exactly what you are feeding.
