I have a concern and was hopeing someone can help me.... my three plants are about a foot tall currently in an industry 1 gallon pot. They are 29 days old in soil today.I transplanted them after there first week or so and buried them down to the first leaf...or sprout wings. There growing in miracle gro sterile soil and miracle gro potting soil...i mixed the two up. Ive feed the plants fish emolusion per directions at time of transplant which is 5-1-1 and switched to miracle gro 12-4-8 (both liquid fert.) and feed them with that so far only once, per directions. I water them about once a week very well but i guess the last two times were only 4 days apart. I put them in the sun outside everyday for about 5 1/2 hours and then back to the lights. I started with a very simple set up of two phillips plant and aq. t12 tubes (40 watt) 1600 lumes per and temp of 2700. for the last week and a half they have been under a 100 watt florex which says its eq. to a 1000 watt incadesent. Its Very bright (around 7000 lumes and temp is 6500) i have supplement lights around the plant (Daylight cfls ) 1600 lumes with temp of 5500. They are surrounding the sides with the original phillips plant and aq. tubes turned on its side to further inhance the sides. The bottom leaves are looking somewhat sad like and dropping. Yes there nice and green but not vibrant??? dropping some. the top and sides are great as well. The plants have a strong odor already except my largest plant which is just now starting to smell. Also under the main stems there are new growth leaves+stems. Some of them are kindof haggard looking.....overall they look good but are curling at the tips???Last thing as well lol, the main top leaves are cupping from the vein up??? mainly when the light is on them...why is this and do you think i am doing something harmfull to the plant?Any advice will be appreciated and ill post pics later today when my camera comes home THANKS.. (first posting)

The bottom leaves tend to curl and droop because they are useless and are least important to growth. It would be like keeping your foreskin. It does sound like you have over nutrient problems as Miracle Grow soil is full of time release nutrients. The nutrients you are adding are probably gonna kill your plant soon. I recommend flushing really well to get rid of the time release nutes so that you don't wake up in shock when they decided today was the day that time was up, you will have toxic soil.

Thanks for your reply... I was wondering about the mirale gro soil...I heard people doing pretty good with it, but maybe its not the best choice. Im going to transplant one last time this week end so what soil mix ect. do you reccommend?? As well will it throw the soil ph off if i change soil now?? And do i really need to flush the soil? Or can I just stop giveing additional nutes? The plants over all look pretty good. Thanks again!!

Def stop giving additional nutes.
Generally when you flush pre-nuted soil it activates more nutes. Just go the extra mile and transplant into strictly organic non-nuted soil.
Something like Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

Sounds like you are going in every direction. Quit mixing organic with chem fert's. It's best to go one way ot the other. :peace:
