I use, pretty much, the same soil mix through all stages of growth (except young seedlings). My soil mix includes a modest amount of composted manures (a variety), as well as two different brands of dry organic (meal based) fertilizers. I got everything in there from Blood and Bone meal to Alfalfa and Feather meal (not to mention all the "Micro-organisms" you could shake a stick at!). The goal of this "Wide Variety" of nutrients is to give a balanced amount of N-P-K, roughly equal values for all three. The strength, or "potency", of the overall soil mix is kept "a little low" on purpose; because I suppliment it as needed on an ongoing basis.
As I said earlier, I use the same basic soil mix through all stages of growth; just "more of the same" at each and every repotting.
During the veg cycle, I spike the "N" a little with regular Alaska fish emulsion (5-1-1) and "Mexican" Bat Guano (10-2-1).
During the flowering cycle, I spike the "P&K" a little with "Mor Bloom" Alaska fish emulsion (0-10-10) and "indonesian" Bat Guano (0-12-0).
I'm a fairly recent convert from "Big Name Brands" (expensive and sometimes hard to find), to "Roll Your Own" (cheap and available almost everywhere). And I lean towards the "Organic" approach, but it's more like a "State of Mind" than it is a religion with me.
