well i will go on record and say i dont want to see our troops in a war that has nothing to do with the US. we are already in a useless war no need to get in the middle of a conflict of 2 other country's. we already seen what happened the first time in Korea, i hope we dont have to see a second. to add congress can vote on an act of war even if Obama doesnt want it. Congress holds the the strings to the puppet we call a president. But if the N. Korean's send anything at our ships while in the area and not in n. Korean waters you better bet we would be in a second war nose deep in the shit all over again.

While I agree with you, your Government has been sending troops to wars that have nothing to do with the U.S for the last 150 years. That wont change unfortunately.

I'm prety sure N.Korea want's America to get involved anyway, while Kim Jong Ill appears to be anti-S. Korea, I'm almost 100% sure that he really just want's to play with the big boy's. He has just taken an indirect route.

i agree with you as well. outside of the pacific theater in ww2 we have always stuck our nose where it doesn't belong. Sadly then other country's would fallow the UK being one of them. But i guess there has to be a country that sicks up for the little guys, sometimes i just wish it wasn't us.

Anyways its Thanksgiving.... i hope all of you who are here in the states have a safe a good night

What DOESNT BELONG is your view which lacks FACTs. Nothing happens for no reason, So when America Sticks its nose into another War its for a Reason not understood by most. America Has its FINGERS in every POT in EVERY COUNTRY. any its one MASTER CHESS GAME so as we may not UNDERSTAND the actions of certain COUNTRIES.. THEY CAN SAY ALL THEY WANT ON THE NEWS. Thats not REAL LIFE and thats not THE BIG PICTURE. If you cant admit that you dont know more that 5-10% of the Real Facts, its pointless to argue any point. N.Korea Has Nuclear Wepons, America Just doesnt want them PRODUCING NUCLEAR WEPONS* as fast because then some endup MISSING being sold to Terrorists for the REAL THREATS. PPL need to Realize Just bacause the USA has the strongest military doesnt mean WE RUN SHIT, USA SENDS IN AID after BOMBING a CITY. ONLY THE USA. We would never drop the BOMB again on Innocent PPL for any reason. But a RADICAL country WILL DROP THE BOMB on US, Regardless what happens to them. USA HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO TAKE HOLD OF THE WORLD AS BEST THEY CAN OR SIMPLY LET THEIR POLITICAL CORRECTNESS BE THE DEATH OF THEM. Hard fact of life, When their are thousands of bombs on this planet that can honestly destroy our way of life, Things are IN CHECK and wont happen at Random. TIME DOESNT STOP, The REST OF THE WORLD KNOWS THIS. Do you?

There is some truth to that, I don't think there is a SINGLE state leader who would dare to launch a nuclear attack in this day and age, as it will dictate a sure and swift self destruction.
The real threat is poorly paid workers in very unstable governments, who may just sell this stuff to some nutjob, smart enough to make a dirty bomb or something like that. I realy fear for the day real terrorists decide to strike (not flase flag shit), most of the crap we get fed as attacks in the press are shit first graders could pull off without detection. And that is scary. Globaly governments are risking the lives of their ordinary citizens, for the profit of a few corporations.
And with the new swarm of newly empoverished, solders will be a dime a dozen.

While the atomic bombs are possibly a small reason why America wont attack it isn't the main reason.

Now, what might the main reason be???? Could it be money? The main fucking motive for every single war that America has stuck it's foot in is money. Why did they go fuck up half of Africa? Why did they need to create their very own fucking war with Iraq and Afganistan?? And tell me, for the love of god, what the reason was for them invading Vietnam?? It's all about the benjamins man. Not about nuclear power. Take a look at what each of those countries that I mentioned has in natural resources.......now, what the fuck does N. Korea have that is worth something???

If it were about nuclear power, America would have been trying to neutralize Kim Jong and N. Korea for a long time already......

They wont get much money out of going to war with N. Korea, that is why I highly doubt that the USA will get involved.

Exactly.. Africa-RICHEST CONTINENT IN NATURAL RESOURCES. AFGHANISTAN- WE COULD NOT AFFORD THE OIL WE BUY IN THE HANDS OF MADMEN SO WE PROTECT OUR INVESTMENT. (WE PROTECT THE VERY PRODUCT WE BUY, SEEMS FAIR.) N.Korea- AMERICA is JUST PROTECTING THE SOUTH BECAUSE AMERICA HAS MONEY INVESTED IN THE SOUTH. its not just 1 reason, China Doesnt want Refugees running across the border from the WAR. all aspects cost money

damn..some seriously misinformed posts in this thread..but i'm glad my thread blew up! just got back..

anyway, there will be a korean war (first or second or continued, whatever you wanna call it). i've been writing about it and talking about it for about 4-5 years. it's part of the agenda and there will be a war within 10-15 years. the shelling was a big deal but it's only conditioning for the future. there won't be a war any time in the next few months, but there WILL be a war within the next decade.

who do you think is feeding the north their nuclear capabilities? they've been set on the path and assisted to become a nuclear power by the US.

there was a lot of shit i wanted to reply to but im so fuckin tired, i just got home a few minutes ago...and there were so many pages i dont remember the posts

but yeah, it's all over the news still here. it was all over the news in japan too

I could be wrong here, but I believe that what the American's supplied North Korea with were materials to build nuclear reactor's for practical use (electricity etc). As far as I'm aware nuclear arms cannot be produced with the reactor that was supplied, there are other machines needed to complete the process to create nuclear bombs. As I said, I could be wrong.

I believe it was the Russian's who infact gave N.Korea what it needed to create plutonium and in turn have the material to build atomic bombs, ever since the beginning of the whole N.Korean nuclear programme (in the mid 1950's not long after the Korean war ceasefire was announced) it has been the Russian's who have supplied them with what they need. Atleast, that is what I have read. Ofcourse there will be other theories around. More recently Pakistan also helped N.Korea with tech info and key technology (centrifuges) in return for missile technology and research.

I doubt that America would be pointing N.Korea in that direction. What would be the U.S interest in this?? Especially seeing as N.Korea are known for trading with the middle east. Which has been a "threat" to the United States since the mid 80's. Doesn't make much sense there man????

hey, i'll keep it short and i'm not linking any sources so you can search yourself or ask me for em and i'll post them on monday when im at work. i'm too lazy.

clinton signed a deal which allowed n korea to drop all their bullshit projects for a nuclear program and were able to receive technology and equipment to build. bush signed a deal to send millions of taxpayer dollars to north korea strictly for their nuclear program. around the same time, ABB signed a deal to send n korea light water reactors and other equipment to ramp up their nuclear capabilities. this was while donald rumsfeld was on the board of directors of ABB.

just on a side note, do you really believe that the US innocently gave north korea "technology to build nuclear reactors for practical use" not thinking about what may happen if the north just turned around and used light water reactors to weaponize plutonium?

how would this not be in US interest? the korean peninsula is one of the most strategic points in asia. it's the one buffer in asia that the US controls (though there is also japan). a nuclear-north korea is exactly what the US wants, a continued threat justifies americas presence halfway across the globe. is it really that far-fetched to think that the US often times prop up the enemy in order to achieve a certain goal? for example, the al qaeda, 'communist terrorists' (saboteurs) in iran, latin american anal rape, countless times.

SEOUL, South Korea — Tension mounted Friday near a South Korean island bombarded this week by North Korea, as the North’s military again fired artillery, this time in what appeared to be a drill on its own territory.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/27/world/asia/27korea.html?_r=1

(Reuters) - China said on Friday it was determined to prevent an escalation of this week's violence on the Korean peninsula but warned against military acts near its coast as U.S. and South Korean forces prepared for exercises in the Yellow Sea.

North Korea, stepping up its rhetoric just days after it shelled a South Korean island, said the four-day naval drills starting on Sunday risked pushing the region toward war.

The U.S. military said the exercises, planned long before Tuesday's attack, were designed to deter North Korea and were not aimed at China.

"We've routinely operated in waters off the Korean peninsula for years," said Captain Darryn James, a Pentagon spokesman. "These latest provocations have been by the North and they need to take ownership of those, not us."

Calling for calm, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met North Korean ambassador Ji Jae Ryong in Beijing and talked by phone with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan.

"The top priority now is to keep the situation under control and to ensure such events do not happen again," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

To help ease the tensions in the world's fastest-growing economic region, the United States is pressing China to use its influence to rein in reclusive and unpredictable North Korea, which has defied efforts to halt its nuclear ambitions.

YEONPYEONG ISLAND, South Korea – A defiant flash of North Korean artillery within sight of the island that it attacked this week sent a warning signal to Seoul and Washington: The North is not backing down.

The apparent military drill Friday came as the top U.S. commander in South Korea toured Yeonpyeong island to survey the wreckage from the rain of artillery three days earlier. As a U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier headed toward the Yellow Sea for exercises next week with South Korea, the North warned that the joint maneuvers will push the Korean peninsula to the "brink of war."

President Lee Myung-bak on Friday named a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to the post.

Tensions have soared between the Koreas since the North's strike Tuesday destroyed large parts of Yeonpyeong in a major escalation of their sporadic skirmishes along the disputed sea border.

The only thing keeping us from going to war with NK or staying in war in AFG or PAK is our common people in the US don't have any more money to spend. Our country now has more debt than the cumulative private wealth in our country. The people's sentiment is no longer extravagant it is now quickly becoming thrifty. This is why we stayed out of war so long in WWII. We were just coming out of the depression and our people were conservative and thrifty.

The United States war machine is temporarily out of money and US Citizens are very unlikely to fork out more for another bullshit war.

It does look like the timer on a war with NK is about 10 years out still. By that time the US will be fully fortified in the Pacific. All you got to do is look at how much military buildup is going on in the Pacific and look at the schedule for completion of all the buildup activities. The US is getting ready for war in Asia. There is no doubt about it.
