After a 3 years forced break from doing what I love the most I'm back! Starting from scratch again but it's still fun!

For the first time ever I will be using a 400mh for veg then 600hps for flowering and boy I can not wait!

Saturday 10-3-15
Planted the skeeds directly into FFOF soil in party cups. Gona be using FFOF through out the grow. Also will be using the full Rock Nutrient line. http://rocknutrients.com/project/rock-box-trial-pack/ Also Humboldt Honey to help flower & Botanicares Silica Blast to help prevent stress throughout grow.

Running CFL's atm then busting out the 400mh when it's time.

This first run I'm working with skeeds I've picked up throughout the past three years. For sure worth growing. Those skeeds that only come 1 in a QP image.jpg

Feel free to post & sub gona be a long strange trip!

Few months ago I took a shot at growing some grape ape. Turned out to be male after flowering him to show sex early. After it showed balls I was pretty upset but not upset enough to kill him. I just threw him in my living room window. After a while (few weeks) I finally killed her. That was early early summer. Before I had this great setup. image.jpg

Anyone disagree with busting out the 400mh? Don't like the way babes are stretching with the little CFL I have to work with. Any suggestions welcome, this will be my first run with mh/hps lights.image.jpg

Hooked up the 400mh, the bulb is a xtrasun metal halide 7500k sky blue, 1000w magnetic ballast, and a hydrofarm daystar ac reflector. Also have a 600hps bulb for flower.

Can anyone please let me know if I have this light too close to my baby's? Any help or comments appreciated! Thanks!image.jpgimage.jpg
You can see the distance in this picture below.image.jpg

I would keep the light at least 36+ inches (48+ is probably better) away since they are still seedlings. Going from cfl to mh will shock the shit out of established plants, let alone seedlings, if the light is too close; they just can't handle the intensity. If it's adjustable, put the light on the lowest wattage and let them acclimate for a week, then bump it up a notch for a week and so on till you're at full wattage, then start slowly moving the light closer to the ladies till you're in the optimum range (usually 24 +/- inches).

Thanks chad, good looks. Ya I lowered the baby's off the clear tub there. Better safe than sorry.
