NL as a Breeding Blank Slate

saw this description of NL from a grower on another site
by blank slate, he meant the NL's bud and resin production remain in a cross
but the character of the high tends to come from the other parent of the cross
i find this very interesting, actually have done a nl#5 cross(haven't grown out yet)
anyone have an opinion on this description?

im growing out a northern lights x blueberry cross.

breeder description notes something similar to what you're after... looks & stacks like NL but tastes like BB.

i have a pack of lemon thai x NL am dying to try.

and im getting ready to snatch a pack of sensi shiva skunk as i am looking for a nice male.

i have heard good things about the nl x bb cross - called northern berry(?)
i suspect the nl#5 i've used may not work quite the same
it was out crossed with Thai(?) and so has a bit more character of its own, which might leave its tracks in a cross

haven't grown it, seen mixed opinions
some seemed to love it, also seen plenty that didn't like it

EDIT: whoops, thought you were talking about Dr. Atomics NL
i think the nl x bb(which dizzle just mentioned was a backcross) has a very happy following, haven't seen much negative about that one

Dr A's is a Bx to NL5 so its NL5 x BB x NL5...i been wanting to try it for along time but never have yet.

i have a version by peakseeds and i love it...its not the most potent strain but its pretty potent and taste like BB

that's awesome to hear.

outside of sending cash in the mail to the hemp depot , it's not easy to get dr. atomic.

had Atomic NL & Shiva in my basket at "gypsy nirvana" but couldn't pull the trigger knowing rez & crew are such f*gs.

that was yesterday.

some peeps think NL is heavy & couch locky. but you can take it a little early.

i like it for good yield & fast finish too.

shiva skunk (with NL of course) is my next purchase for sure.

shanti has a NL5 x Skunk ...they have no name for it... but i mean its "shiva" imo.

plus mr nice does 15 beans to a pack which is better odds for me

Wonder what the dude from Peakseeds used as his Parents for his strains..... I know he says BLUEBERRY, SKUNK, KUSH, or NL.... But Blueberry, Skunk, Kush, or NL from who?.... I told him he really needs a Super Silver Haze in the mix... and he said he knew he needs new strains, and he said he was open to people with input, and he had an open mind in there things..... Also told him about Space Queen and maybe a Strawberry Cough...

i can answer that for you...... His NL crosses are made with NL5 from BCSC, the Skunk is Pure Skunk from old BC orig gear, the BB he uses in crosses is from Sagarmantha , the BB he sells was made using DJ Short/Sag/Dutch Passion, and the Kush cut he uses is a proven Purple Kush cut going around BC right now.....the Kush stuff is newer and i can tell you he is working on some sativas to add to the menu in the future...its my fav seed bank i jus ordered 6 packs last week
