what light are they under..? the buds look very small and airy for week 6. not trying to be a dick just trying to figure as much out about the plants as possible sense im growing some ice myself

I was wondering what type of lights they are under and how far along they are. How many weeks. Good grow man.

The buds look airy because this strain is actually more Sativa than Indica. They're both sitting under two 150watt HPS systems for a total of 300 watts (plus two 150watt fluros for side lighting). The two combined 150HPS systems, total up to something in the ballpark of around 20k to 28k of lumens. Which isn't too bad.

But yeah, as for the buds looking airy.. they're really not that airy when seen in real person. But they are kinda airy because of the strain being more on the Sativa side rather than Indica. Therefore I do believe that the two ladies are going to need a full 9 to 10 weeks worth of flowering. Possibly 11 weeks.. before they're fully ripe and ready to harvest. But that's cool.. I've got nothing but time.

Also, this is why I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good nutrient that would really help the buds fatten up a little.

thanks for the info man mine are comming along pretty well ive been lazy with taking some pics but im going to have some tonight or tommorow i think. I cant wait to see how your lovely ladys turn out

Sounds good man. My Violator Kush last round took me 12 full weeks. I was pretty suprised but just had to be patient as well. Whats your grow space like? How big? I use Pura Vida Growth and Bloom along with GreenFuse growth stimulator and I have had excellent results in my 2 grows. Why I am asking about grow space is the first thing I would do if I were you is give those ladies more room for the roots. Getg some bigger pots if possible. I believe it is one of the main things I see. My last 2 grows I have had 4 3 gallon pots and one that is 2 gallons. Both times the plant in the 2 gallon pot yielded much less or has much less growth. It is always trying to catch up with the others and stretching more. Always needs more attention to stake the branches and has way less side growth. Just my thought but I think it will be a big difference maker for you. Next time I would go straight from small pot to 3 gallon or larger even. I hear people going with 5 or 7 or even 10 gallon and every time their plants seem to yield more and more.

heyy man. im subbing as well. yea the plants look good. very healthy and nice green leaves. =) but i agree wioth ya.. ur probly deff gonna need about 10 weeks maybe more. but watch once those red hairs start showin up.. the plants gonna just take off.. im using CFL's.. and once the plant stops growing upwards.. adn i dont needa move the lights anymore... thats my fav. part.. just watch the buds fill out. =) hopefully u get that cool purple pheno of ice. =) im growin nirvana's white widow.. the journals in my sig if ya wanna check it out.. im around the sane time as u.. well a lil ahead.. im about to be on week 7 on tuesday. this strain finished fast (for me anywayz).. she will be ready by week 8/9

Hey everyone, I'm going to be posting last Friday's update.. this coming Friday. Plus I'll have this coming Friday's Update as well.

So, all together I'll have two total updates for everyone. They're both doing fucking great.. and are now starting to spit out the trichs like mad!

Not only that, but they're now starting to smell like they should.

The smaller one (the runt) of the two, is doing great as well. She's actually only about 1 or two weeks from harvest.. and her taller sister.. the Beast.. she's going to need another 3 weeks. Possibly 4. But, there have been some factors that have slowed things down by a few days. But its been fixed..

so as of today, which is exactly day 40 of flowering for both plants. The smaller one has around a week to possibly 2 weeks left.. I'm leaning more towards two weeks.. just to make sure she's nice and ripe before I harvest her.

but as her bigger and taller sister, (she's 3' 2" but has stopped vertical growth.. plus I stopped feeding them nitrogen two weeks ago), but yeah her taller sister is a beast.. and her buds are getting FAT!!! She's actually starting to bend over to the right.. from the weight of the top kohla. Which is actually good to see.. but I still gave her support. So, as far as harvest time for her.. I'm going to give her at least 3 more weeks.. then take a look at her and examine her.. before deciding rather or not to go ahead and give her another week.. which would be 4 more weeks instead of 3.

So let me tally this up for everyone real quick..

Shorter sister, She needs another week at least.. so if I harvest her at the end of next week, she will have had a total of 8.5 weeks of flowering. If I decide to give her the extra week after that week.. she will have had 9.5 weeks of flowering.

Taller, fatter sister, She needs at least 3 more weeks. Probably 4. So, if I harvest her in another 3 weeks, she will have had a total of 10.5 weeks.. but if after I check her after that.. and decide she still needs that extra week like I had thought she might need.. if I give that to her she will have had exactly 11.5 weeks of flowering.

Remember people, I think Nirvana might have made an error some where along the way. These ladies have quite a bit more Sativa in them, than Nirvana realizes I think. This strain has the characteristics more on the Sativa side, than Indica. It's not a pure Sativa, we all know that.. but.. I think its more like 20% Indica and 80% Sativa IMO.

Anyhow, I can't wait to get new pics of these two sluts. They're looking HOT. Especially the runt.. but her big sister isn't too far behind her. It's a close race.. LOL.

P.S. - To answer the pot size question. The runt, the smaller of the two.. she stayed in a pretty small pot at first, even in the first two weeks of flowering.. but I knew she was rootbound so I went ahead and transplanted her into a 1/2gallon rubber-maid container. Her big sister, She's been in a 1.5gallon container since she sprouted. Hope that helps answer your question. see everyone Friday! peace.

Hey ganjaluvr, Iv'e been growing the nirvana ice strain for over a year now. It does very well in hydro and it must be more sativa because some of mine go as long as 10 weeks. It's well worth the wait. Pics are from a dyc grow last year. I have a couple veggging now and I'll put one each into a 5 gal dwc. I plan to put each 5 gal dwc ice under a 400 hps so I'll have to start a journal when they blow up. Peace!

anyhow, bare with me.. as I didn't get yesterdays (Friday Grow Update) uploaded.

The battery that came with this camera, is shit. That's what the problem is... but Best Buy won't give me a new battery when I just bought this

damn thing from them just two months ago. Which is shitty on their side.. I mean its like kicking a man when he's down.

But, my brother inlaw said he has a battery that will work. The guys a electronic geek.. but he's a cool guy too. But yeah, anything new and cool, as far as electronics go.. he either already has it or at least knows about it. But anyhow, I'm driving to his house to see my sister this coming Friday. Yeah, I wish I could get it sooner too.. because these bitch's are getting hella sexy!!

But anyhow, I wanted to at least let everyone know what's going on and shit. So you ppl weren't left in the dark.. thinking "wtf..? what up with the update?" lols..

Anyhow, this coming Friday, I'm going to take twice as many photos.. since I can't really makeup what I missed this past Friday.. I figure I would just take some extra pictures to try and make it even.

Yeah. I've seen a few other hydro Ice grows. They all looked fucking %100 too. Just like yours there.. those are fucking dense son! The one in the second picture next to the soda can, that's a fucking nice bud buddy.

Yeah, I knew that the strain has more Sativa in it.. than ppl realize I think. Until they actually grow it. LOL... then they find out for themselves.
As I did.. and you did I'm sure. Nirvana say's its more Sativa than Indica.. of course.. but I think it has a tad bit more than they realize even.

Yeah, they're both on day 45 as of today. 45 days since they showed sex, not since I switched over to 12/12. I got to thinking earlier, and the
smaller one, the runt.. she's doing great and all but I got to thinking that she's actually about a week ahead of her taller adversary.. I mean sister. So really, the runt girl.. she's actually 53 days into budding. So she's only got about another week to go.

But, I may even give them both a good 11 weeks worth of budding you know..? Just depends on how the trichs look at the beginning of week 10. Or, the end of week 9.. However you want to look at it.

Anyhow, I took some test buds last week.. because the trichs were mainly cloudy. I haven't smoked any of it yet, still letting it dry. Plus, I'm going to give the test bud a good week of curing as well.

How's Ice taste??? I heard it was so really potent bud. Especially if you let it go for 11 or 12 weeks before harvesting.

The taste is very smooth my friend, especially after it cures well. It's pretty potent. Comparied to WW and like the AK strains I'll say it's right up there. You probably notice already it is a low smell weed while growing and after curing, it has a fruity kinda musty smell. The first time I grew it I thought it would never finish. I think it went over 11 weeks. I got impatient and chopped it. Never had it go to amber trichs yet, but I will let it go this time all he way. I'll put up a few more pics later. Peace.

I have to agree with you B DUB, I like Smokinguns third pic the best too. Hope you don't mind me saying this Smokinguns but there is something about a redhead with big "Buds" and a tight body..DaMmnnn....I like your photography

The Ice pheno that I kept, and pretty much the other phenos too, are done at 7.5 weeks and the trics turn almost overnight. Different breeder perhaps, but I have to agree with Ugly. They really do look like they were dipped in sugar.

After more than two years, I switched from Fox Farm to Cornucopia and the Ice love it. Big nitrogen hogs but with the new nutes they are looking greener than ever
