As I mentioned before, peoples perception of being the victim of racism is often very different than those viewing it externally, and I have seen firsthand instances where my wife thought someone was being racist towards her, where Im pretty sure they werent, and after I pointed it out to her, she admitted that she was probably wrong. Just because someone feels something is one way, doesnt mean it always is. Often people look for the simplest answer to why they might be treated differently or unfairly, and race is an easy one for them to use. "I didnt get the raise I feel I deserve, my boss is racist", "That white bitch gave me the stink eye when I walked by her, she must be racist", "I got pulled over for going 79 in a 75, when everyone else was speeding also, pig is racist", etc...

Also id bet if you took a pool of NFL viewers and asked them 2 things, if they thought the protestors 'won' (which I dont agree with) and if they thought the protests helped or hurt race relations in the US, you would be very surprised by the results.

I will check out that site when I have some time, Im interested to viewing others perspectives, but Im not sure it will make me significantly more sympathetic towards their cause. I should probably mention, the only violence I have experienced in my adult life was being beaten silly by a group of black athletes when I was in college at a house party. I made the mistake of trying to break up what was going to be a fight between a white youth and a black youth, where the black youth was obviously the aggressor, and had a pack black males turn on me and give me a fairly severe concussion. I didnt expect to be jumped by a group of guys for trying to defend a single one, in a non-violent way. While I dont hold this against all black people, I do have some understanding of why police might be significantly more cautious when dealing with them than other races, who have less violent tendencies.
LOL the idea that you know better what racism is to a black or asian person. The arrogance of white men is amazing. I guess you learned about having somebody at your back when you stepped in to try to stop a fight that you had no business with. Was it your house? Your party?

You stink of unjustified white entitled arrogance. With blinders on. I don't think you'll ever get it.

another argument against this asinine rule is that now that the owners have made it a workplace rule, any player that takes a knee is protesting a workplace rule, and that is unquestionably protected under federal labor laws......

These idiots are just fake patriots that don't know shit. This country is based on the constitution not a military parade song. We have the right to free speech and to protest even if that means burning the flag. Not some stupid military worship at a football game that the government pays the league to act patriotic.

Whenever people talk about protesting during the National Anthem, I go back to this passage from the Supreme Court's decision that students could not be forced to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance:

I think I understand now, black racism is 10x worse than what native americans, or asians, or anyone else experiences? Im arrogant because I think if you act differently, people are justified in treating you differently? Or maybe Im just entitled because I went to college, got a job and own a house in a good part of town? Or maybe I just made good decisions instead of bad? I was actually taken aback slightly by the civility of your previous response. Your last one is much more in fitting with your liberal beliefs! :wall:

Are you talking globally or just in the US? I did swat my kids on the backside a few times when they misbehaved as children. They probably thought I was cruel at the time...

And yes, you are arrogant to tell others about the racism they experience. I'm guessing your wife is financially dependent on you and so just let it slide when your pompous ass mansplains her life to her. Actually she makes significantly more than me, but we both do ok... i don't tell her what to think or do and she is very independent. She does consider my opinion, as i do hers. Sometimes a different perspective is all someone needs to see more clearly...
