Next-Gen LED Growing: Amare SE-450 + Skywalker OG

Hello everyone and thank you for viewing! I've been converting from HID to LED little by little over the past 2 years. Seen a lot of bad and little good. I've ran the Mars, Vipar, BlackDog, Galaxy/Roleadro, Spectrum King, etc. About 3 weeks ago I decided to get the new AMARE SE-450 to test on a few select Skywalker OGs. Very excited about this! Will be using a custom blend of Botanicare and a few other goodies for the girls. Feel free to comment and show some love! Picture is of Week 1. Enjoy!

I have grown r/p skywalker & loved it I'm looking at an 800w. 4 bulb roleadro to replace my 400 hps. do ou think it would get me by for awhile ? I'll be using it over a single waterfarm as in this pic the screen is 29"x29" does your skywalker throw out an occasional 3 fingered leaf here & there ?ATTACH=full]3723219[/ATTACH]

Don't do it. Roleadro is not worth it. If you're going to drop hard-earned money into LED technology make sure it's into something worthy. CREE LED's are king right now. For the budget I would consider one of Amere's smaller CREE models. the more I research the more I think I'll save my money & buy once & done even if I buy the drivers & diy from timber ,cutter etc, been hearing a lot of this amere products but haven't checked them out so I'm pretty safe to assume there is no real short cut thanks for the link

really liking the solar eclipse 450 @$745.00 is that the one you have with the 4- 3070 cree? it's really tempting to buy cheapie but if I'm gonna end up where you're at now I'm thinking I really should think this out & do it once probably be happier in the long run letting your experience be my guide I'm thinking you spent more on less than desirable results than the amare cost to begin with I've been trying to be a tight- ass I'm currently using a galaxy 250-400 switchable ballast that for what it is works good a little over a year ago the solar eclipse probably would sell in the neighborhood of $1200

Hehe I've done a few diy and they're pretty damn good but at the end of the day the convenience & warranty of companies like Amare can't be beat. I'm loving it, the girls are loving it!

amare seems to be a good deal after pricing some of the competition like Johnson, northern & nextlight to name a few you did have a good point as my budget might limit me to a 150 w. light per waterfarm & I could get them one at a time I know Cree is top dog but the model that uses the other light(epistar) is cheaper do you think it would perform? as I think I'm going to have to transition as you did or save for awhile as the light you're running would be my first choice

I had a 100, 150, and 260 that were all epi. They worked fine, but haters gonna hate, even without first hand experience

I haven't tried the Epistar ones but I'm sure they will perform similar to the CREE (maybe just a few points off.) Quality stuff. Amare's flagship model is the SE-450+UVB (the one I've got) and it's a beast. At the end of the day, a quality light will bring in 5-10 lbs of top-shelf medicine per year while a crap light will only bring headaches.

I'm here to help my man. Peace and love!
I've been so sidetracked on the light I've neglected to ask about your skywalker is it the clone or the r/p dna one? I really liked the r/p one it was better than holy grail & yielded the high is similar to the Diablo og I just finished currently looking at r/p grow your own lemon walker my goal is to get a productive low cost to operate grow centered around 1or 2 waterfarms & a 29"x29" scrog my 250-400 switchable ballast is working for now the 250w. Version of your light would make me do flips but you gotta crawl before you can walk realisticly speaking one of the 150w models would get me going my current set-up is economical for an hps but its still an hps I've recently changed from e&f to the waterfarm my goal is to get that balance of yield & quality stuff that yields huge generally won't cut it with my friends & I'm currently trying to get pink panties to yield although it's not known to yield gg#4 is on my hit list & was recently given 2 sour grapes seeds found in a bud here is a pic of the pinkpanties in my scrog I'm wanting the led for do you think the 150 will work until I can upgrade?image.jpeg

The skywalker I have here is a select clone from one of my buddies in LA. I definitely think the 150w will work for your girl. Amare's lights come with modular connectors that allow the lights to be linked together. Very handy when looking to expand. I'm already thinking about picking up another SE-450 for more girls.

the skywalker you've got is probably the one some guy named Ron is supposed to originate I don't know if it has any similarities to the one r\p has but it's supposed to be the sativa og you should do good with this

Week 3 - The girls look and smell amazing. They absolutely blew up.
Wow. Impressive! I am reading your posts, thank you for sharing your experience :) I have Mars at the moment, but always looking for better...once I can afford it! Def on budget right now, being so mental and only able to work part-time.
