Hey all,

So i'm working from home for a few weeks and thought i'd give this a try, maybe cut down on all the duplicate posts a little more.

Ask me any question I'll try my best to answer it.

Little background, I stared growing when i was 15. I stole two 70w HPS security lights of the rooftop of my school and grew 3 plants in the closet of a spare room in my mothers house without her knowing. Ever since i've been hooked, its my passion and hobby. I'm quite a bit older now and still trucking along.

lol thats jokz!:)
anyways bro i was wonderin what "bagseed" is exactly.

Cheers :)
'Bagseed' is exactly what it sounds like. It is seeds from a bag of weed. This normally happens when a grower is careless and allows male plants to pollinate the female plants. Bagseed homegrown in generally better marijuana than the original donor weed. This is because weed with seeds is normally a sign of fast, commercial grade grows who are less concerned about quality than quantity.

Quality is determined subjectively. Each weed has a different high that might appeal to one person more than the other. A common misconception is that the red or white hairs on a bud determine potency. This is not the case. If determining quality by potency one must look at the concentration of trichomes or those little sugar like sparkles on the bud. Other factors to take into concideration are density, seeds and the cure. (not the band) Plants grown under low light intensity (CFL) will be less dense and generally fetch a lower street value. Weed without seeds is priased for its supposed increased potency, and the fact you arn't paying for the seeds wieght. The cure is crutial. You don't want to be buying weed freshly cut off the plant it will be too wet and you wil be paying for the water weight. A nicly cured bud will smoke much nicly than an uncured bud.

Ok, so first here are a couple pics of ho my box looks, i just started and only have the door created and tub painted.

Thumbnails-

The dresser is 37in tall, and 17inX31in and the tub is 6in deep. I will be using misting heads with an aeroponic(keeping roots away from pump?). so i would have about 25 inches to grow my plants using probably 6 24w 5500k cfls for veg and i have a 125w 2700k cfl which i will be using with some smaller low colortemp bulbs.

Questions being, say im growing a few sativas, how many plants wouold comfortably fit in there(when would you start flowering), And will that reservoir be enough room for my roots and hold a decent ammount of water?

First grow and im a little weary after seeing many grows all of which seemed to have large reservoirs and a bit of room to climb. I will get a log together once i get my momentum going.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Personally I've never grown aero so regarding the res size i can't be of any service.

If you are set on hydro/aero i would go ebb and flow for your first adventure into growing. I find it has the best success rate for new growers. You could also use the same tub you you have now for the res. In that space i would probably grow only 2 plants to maintain max light penetration. You can experiment with SCROG too, i think that will give you the best yeild.

As you probably know your plants wil proably stretch twice their height if not more during flowering. I would veg till probably 8 inches then flower, this ofcouse depends on your light setup and how much growing room it takes away.

Id also try to find something other than a sativa when growing with height restrictions such as you have.

so,how long after the preflowers do the real buds start to form?
I assume you are flowering. (you can have preflowers in veg) Normally i expect to see tiny buds form withing 25 days of my switch to 12/12. Sometimes it can take 2-3 weeks just to sex though. It really depends on the strain and finishing time.

I would not suggest this. This is why. There is more to fert and nutes than just N-P-K values. Those are only the macro nutrients. There are micro nutrients as well. In a hydro system those micro nutrients have to be supplied by the nutes in your res. In a soil setup those micro nutrients are naturally occuring in the soil. Learn more about nutes here. Adding an excessive amount of micro nutrients to a soil setup could create an imbalance. Also the pH and salinity of the water is most often effected by the nutes in a hudro system.

Haha, don't buy it man. It is such a waste. Its like poparee (sp?) That funky smelling stuff you ma puts in the bathroom to cover your dirty poos. It might give you a headrush though. You can buy salvia online if you want something worth it.

I'm planning to start my first closet grow in the near future. As far as ventilation goes, I'm going to drill one large hole on top for exhaust with a fan and a homemade carbon filter and a hole on the bottom of the door for intake. For exhaust, can I just have it blow the hot/stagnant air into my room or does it have to be directed outside or into the attic or whatever. The reason i think it might be a problem is because the exhaust is going to be somewhat near the intake (a few feet) and it might circulate old air or would this not be a problem?
thanks

When do you need to pick the seeds to be able to use them to grow more? Is this even possible? Can you use the seeds after the weed is dried? thanks

Hi there , i'm new here , my english is poor because i live in Romania , anyway i've got a seed from a good weed , i plant it 3-4 days ago in black soil , and today i saw that the plant is sprout out , i am wondering how should i keep the plant to avoid a hermie or a male , in the night the plant stays in my apt. and during the day arround 7-8 hours the plant stays in direct sun ( 30-35 Celsius ) , do i need to keep the plant to an artificial light or is enough .
