ok for the past 6 months ive been really interested in doing a hydroponics system. ive down 2 grows now with soil and am ready to move on to the next "big" thing. i want to, of course, make everything by hand instead of just buying a pre-built system as i take pride in even the aspect of building your own room and so forth. so i started my research on youtube and came across this. it seems cheap and effective for the pepper plants he used in it. just wondering if this kind of system would work for cannabis?? im aware to stay away from the MG nutes. but other than that, will this work? if not, is there a link to a DIY on here or somewhere else that would be better for me? my room is 4x3x10. i will be scrogging them also. thanks for any help and rep will be added for helpful answers.

It works ok. Make sure you have lots of air stones in that water and you change the water every week or so. This would be a good starting place for you.

Before you trek to far into hydroponics make sure you get a PH and TDS pen!!!!!!!

Most important tools in a hydro grow are your PPM, PH and Water temps. Looks like to me you want to try DWC. DWC is time consuming and really easy you just have to keep the water temps under 70 degrees, but you will get killer veg growth.

Check out my journal, I'm using stinkbud's system that was featured in High times. Takes a little bit more pvc, a timer for your pump, but god damn the results are worth it. I've only had my plants in this thing for 2 weeks and they have tripled in size already. Going strait clone to 12/12 flower, I've seen an inch a day, and they aren't even at their full potential. Pretty easy to maintain too, I only spend 30 minutes a day, if that, filling nutes, adjusting ph, and checking temps.

Good luck and happy growing

that would work but i highly recommend a stronger air pump than what he purchased. Room temperatures need to stay around 75-70 NOT MORE THAN THIS. Otherwise you will have bacteria problems you also need to be extremely sterile when you make your bucket.

TDS is EVERYTHING about how much your feeding your plants
First you need to tds your tap water if they numbers are 200 or below you can use your tap water If it is not are not YOU REQUIRE Reverse osmosis water (aka R/o) typically found in those 1.25$ per 5 gallon water dispensers

Ph MUST stay between 5.5-6.0 or if you can keep it steady a 5.8 ph is ideal

DO NOT use the fertilizer listed in that video. Go instead for some Dyna-gro with pro-tekt(silica) supplement & if you end up using R/O water you will need Mag-pro. This product is the best ive found and only requires at the most the 4 containers. It's simple and easy and works EVERY TIME, Even for noobs.

Also water temps need to be below 75 at all times so bacteria and algae do not grow in your tank and kill your plants
