New to indoor, how long do I veg from seed?

Hi guy's I'm new to indoor growing. I am thinking to run 32 plants under 3 600 watt lamps on a 4x8 table. I am thinking the standard nursery 5 gallon pots filled with ocean forest and using fox farm nutrients will do. So how long do I veg for before flipping to 12/12 to get the most bud in the shortest amount of time? I'd rather pull 2oz a plant than try to get 4-6 oz a plant. Is there a certain height they should be at? I am hoping to pull 3-4 elbows. Please tell me what you think, thanks

Well. too many plants first of all. it will overcrowd and stunt growth. evenly spaced you should do about 20 for 3 600 watts. veg for about 2 months or until they are of appropriate height. (2-3 ft tall) I would top them so they are bushier with multiple main colas.

so you are talking approximately 11 plants per light...why don't we make it symetrical and call it 12 per light so 36 plants total...4x3 plants under the 600...I'd probably top them once when they are about 6-8" with about 5 nodes on it...and flip to 12/12 once they've hit about 10-12"...don't supercrop or LST any branches as you don't want bushy plants to try and grow that many plants at once

In my opinion, that's a lot of plants to fit into a 4x8 area, and 5 gallon pots are way more than you need if you want to flower asap. Another concern I would have is that by the time your plants are mature enough from seed to go into flower they will be too big to fit into your area. (I wait until a plants new nodes are alternate rather than opposite, a good indicator of maturity). If I wanted to do a SOG style grow with 32 plants in a 4x8 like you described , I would use clones from a mature mother rather than plants from seed, vegged to about 8 to 10 inches tall, in 1 gallon pots, and expect to get an ounce per plant. If I was going to go from seed, I wouldn't try to rush to flower, and I would do less plants per light, vegged at least two months. Good luck!

Too many plants in that space IMO. I run a Budbox xxl which is about the same size area you have with 3 600w, i ran a 12/12 from seed grow with over 20 odd plants in there and it got too much, bloody jungle aint the word man i had to pull some and chuck them in my grow cab to finish off. So if going 12/12 from seed is too much for that area then i would say your gonna run into probs with 32 plants that have had a veg, thats just my opinion tho .....good luck with the grow man.

Thanks for the input guys, I've seen a grow where each table was setup like how I want to do and they pulled 2oz a plant, the plants were about 2.5-3 ft tall upon harvest. I'm just trying to figuer out how tall the plants were when they flipped to 12/12. I'm thinking maybe at about 12 -18"?

Strain is a huge factor here. Though you are probably right in your guess of 12 to 18. any sativa dominant strain when grown to about 12 to 18 will definitely stretch out to 2.5 to 3 ft tall, I grew out some summertime buddha's and they stretched at least 75% from their original size. on the other hand I am currently flowering a kush indica sativa hybrid and this plant stretches so little i have to make sure to veg her out to get a decend yield on her.

Hmm...if you are looking for an alright yield in less time try autoflowers maybe...or 12/12 from seed as someone has already said. Autoflowers don't need 12/12 they keep the normal long cycle through veg and flower, and some strains when started in 12/12 end looking like miniature plants. I find myself bending branches and stuff around throughout the day, but I really don't have the space for these branchy wonders...I could use more heighth and less bushiness for the space I am using...so I hadn't really thought about it but I guess I need to leave them alone...lol.

I'm planning on going with Dinafems critcal + and their UK Cheese, I've had good results with Dinafem outdoors so I want to give them a try indoors.
